Yep. Burnham still believes and acts like a local city mayor. Focus on bus fares, music on trains and street bikes. It’s not as if we have an economy mired in massive debt, a huge deficit, increasing inflation, a million young people unemployed etc?
"There has seldom been a greater need for a strong ally capable of influencing American policy. Instead Burnham and Miliband are showing not only that they cannot rise to the level of events, but they do not wish to.
"They regard their jobs as being quite different."

Yep. Truly dreadful advert. I’ve read the focus group summary and that it apparently divided those interviewed. I’m clearly in the minority who were appalled by the message it sends about parenting, not setting boundaries for spoilt children and a grandmother chasing relevance
John Lewis Christmas advert sends a dangerous message to women 🚨🎄
What a brilliant piece from the Daily Express, and they're absolutely spot on! 👏
In this year's advert, Gloria and Pickles, Dame Kristin Scott Thomas plays a grandmother who jumps in a London rickshaw (a tuk-tuk) to go Christmas shopping at John Lewis for disco balls and fairy lights to build a "gran cave" for her grandchildren.
The Express writer watched it "in horror". She points out that these rickshaw cabs "plague central London" and are an extremely dangerous way to travel, especially for a woman on her own. She says she would never dream of setting foot in one, and that there are horror stories almost every day of women, often tourists, being targeted by unscrupulous drivers. 😡
So why on earth is John Lewis glamorising them in its flagship Christmas advert?
It's not just the Express. Piers Morgan called it "possibly the worst advert I've ever seen for anything", and said it "would actively dissuade me from going to John Lewis". Sharron Davies, Dan Walker and Kirstie Allsopp have all slammed it too.
I couldn't agree with the Express more. Do you? 👇
Not shedding any tears whatsoever for Russell Brand. Always thought he was a loathsome individual. Never understood why the BBC held him in such high esteem?

Losing a child is every parent’s worst nightmare.
I’ve met the Nowaks. They are a brave family, locked in a fight for justice when they should be mourning their son.
Henry’s murderer deserves the maximum sentence he can get, so news that it has increased to 25 years is welcome. It will never bring Henry back but it is a step in the right direction.
Since meeting Henry's family their story has stayed with me. We owe it to his memory to make sure this sort of thing does not happen again.
Tonight, you can hear their story in their own words.
Henry Nowak’s family were told there were 'no concerns' with officer conduct by the police watchdog, the IOPC.
In an exclusive interview with ITV News UK Editor @PaulBrandITV, the family says they were unaware of the contents of officers’ bodycam footage from the scene of the crime, which detailed the 'horrific' final moments of their son's life.
Speaking publicly for the first time, Henry's father, Mark and stepmother, Katie, said they only saw the video on the first day of the trial of their son's killer.

They called it ‘Devolution’! In reality it was centralising powers to officials and remote ‘regional’ mayors
Car crash interview.👇🙄
Labour's big announcement this morning is eight new regional water councils.
On Times Radio, Stig Abell asked Angela Eagle the obvious question:
what powers will they have to hold water companies to account?
Can they fine them? Fire a CEO?
She couldn't say. "There will be a whole range of other issues… you'll have to wait to see the water bill when we publish it."
Pressed again: "I'm not publishing the water bill this morning."
She did Times Radio, Sky and LBC selling a policy she couldn't explain.
Same old government. Big headline. Zero detail. Standard Labour MP in over there head..

Love it
See, this is more like a Christmas Ad from Lidl.
It's upbeat, tacky, cheesy, jolly, colourful, with food, drink, Christmas jumpers and decorations! Barry from Eastenders singing Slade, and a few celebs joining in! 🎶 🎅🎄
It even wishes us all a very merry CHRISTmas at the end, what more could you want! ⛪️
@LidlGB well played 👏
What is the point of the Lib Dems ( except to prop up Labour)?

Sadly, a classic Labour Minister interview. One now of so many. Why do they send their Ministers out with so little briefing or training. This line of questioning is so predictable
A car crash interview from Angela Eagle, “the lesser of two Eagles”.
Labour’s big announcement today is the introduction of eight new regional water councils, but the Environment Secretary can’t even explain what powers they’ll actually have.
Additionally, which areas will each one cover? Who will lead them? How will membership of these councils be selected? When will they be established? Who will they answer to? Etc, etc…
Another shambolic announcement from a Government which loves a headline, but has zero detail to back it up.
In what parallel universe?
Easy win for Louise Haigh today taking her first #PMQs as First Secretary.

Well said Steve
✊🏻Enjoyed tackling the student Marxism and strategic incompetence of this Labour government on @TalkTV last night - many thanks to Talk and listeners
🥀I hope @EmmaforWycombe does much more live, unscripted telly - more revealing than reading out official speeches in Parliament
