Home and hosed! After returning from a deployment in France last month, our Chinook is ready for the NSW fire season. In this video, the crew can be seen testing the aircraft's 11,000+ litre capacity over Penrith Lakes.

Yesterday afternoon a large storm cell moved into the Southern Tablelands. A member captured this video of a tornado forming north of Gunning. #RFS crews worked into the evening to support NSWSES at storm damage incidents, securing structures, clearing trees and removing hazards.

The storms that moved across the state over the weekend generated hundreds of thousands of lightning strikes and varying rainfall totals. We’re asking residents and land managers to remain vigilant and when safe to do so, inspect your properties for new ignitions.
