Following @nickwallis's report on Tues, (see second post in this thread), here's more good coverage by @ShiptonMartin about the additional evidence of the policy capture within NHS Wales, including Welsh Gender Services, which has led to suspension of all referrals by the Joint Commissioning Committee.

This is where trans activism leads. Progressive establishment feminism now has to celebrate male entitlement over female discomfort.
🚨 NEW: “St Hilda’s College takes seriously the duty to protect and promote freedom of expression within the law.”
The response three female former Oxford University students received - after complaining about male biochemistry lecturer Matt Rattley wearing large prosthetic breasts at work.
“We urge you to take immediate action,” they wrote to the college’s principal, Dame Sarah Springman, in May, raising concerns about sexual harassment.
A parent and a member of the public who separately raised concerns say they received no reply.
Asked how the complaints were handled, both Oxford University and St Hilda’s said they had nothing further to add to their previous statements.
I’ve published the correspondence and their responses in [Un]Captured.

This proposed development was controversial when i was a @bbcsurrey presenter more than a decade ago. There is no way it should go ahead. Well done to those still fighting. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9gk…

What has been going on at the Welsh Gender Service is a big story. Thanks to NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee's commitment to relative transparency*, we can see it unfold.

"Another reason given for the surgery suspension was an approach, also in August, from what NHS Wales calls a “whistleblower” within the NHS. Dr Joseph Chrysostom had submitted a 42-page dossier about the complete lack of regulatory oversight of gender surgery in the UK and its miss-selling to vulnerable patients by the NHS."

Superb interview.
🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me.
The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated.
Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS.

NEWS! Simon Lightwood MP has sent the draft ban to Parliament for scrutiny, despite warnings it could criminalise parents, gag therapists and give courts sweeping powers over family life

This is insanity. Introducing self-ID in this way is far more dangerous than walking it in through the front door.
So pleased for and proud of @jan_murray. The idea a disability charity should choose knee-jerk discrimination over common sense speaks volumes about the people running it.
Brilliant news for free speech - and for women. 🎉
Scope has publicly apologised for cancelling my choir’s London Marathon performance over my gender-critical views, acknowledging its decision was wrong.
Our legal dispute is now resolved. No apology can undo the upset caused, but I hope this gives more women confidence to speak up - and makes others think twice before cancelling people for speaking about biological reality.
I tried to resolve this privately before going public or consulting lawyers. The brilliant @MForstater helped me draft a letter to Scope ahead of the marathon, hoping we could clear things up. Unfortunately, Scope stood by its decision at that stage.
I’m so grateful to the @SpeechUnion, my solicitors Sharpe Pritchard, the fellow singers who stood beside me and members of @womensrightsnet for their support.
Sadly, I fear some singers may feel too nervous to return to the choir. But I hope other women will feel emboldened by this news.
Women should be able to speak about biological sex, their sex-based rights and the language used to describe their bodies - without fear of cancellation or other negative consequences.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New action on redress for postmasters affected by Post Office scandals
Deadlines set for closure of remaining redress schemes for postmasters, providing certainty while ensuring eligible individuals still have time to submit new claims
New independent routes for reviewing and appealing claims to strengthen fairness
Independent investigation announced into pre-Horizon software systems
Over £1.7 billion compensation paid out to over 14,000 postmasters through Horizon redress schemes
Thousands of postmasters affected by the Horizon and Capture scandals are set to benefit from new action on redress. The Government has today [21 October] announced a new package of measures to provide pathways to conclusion for schemes, strengthen scrutiny and fairness, and investigate pre-Horizon software.
The scandals caused profound harm to postmasters, many of whom suffered years of financial, personal and reputational damage through no fault of their own. Over £1.7 billion has now been paid out in compensation to over 14,000 of those affected, with 87% of Horizon claims received now settled.
Post Office Minister, Kate Dearden said:
“We must never lose sight of the suffering caused by the Horizon and Capture scandals. Behind every pound of compensation paid is a person whose life has been turned upside down by the scandal.
“We remain unwavering in our commitment to provide fair, comprehensive and timely redress to all those affected and ensure that a scandal like this never happens again.”
New deadlines have been set for applications to the two remaining postmaster redress schemes, providing a pathway to conclusion while ensuring sufficient time for people to apply. The Capture Redress Scheme will close to new applications on 31 March 2027, while the Horizon Convictions Redress Scheme will close to new submissions on 31 July 2027.
New routes have also been announced to strengthen fairness around compensation offers on the Horizon Shortfalls Scheme (HSS). Later this month, a new independent review process will begin for postmasters who have been told that there is insufficient evidence to receive a fixed sum offer of compensation.
A new independent review process will also open in November for those who have previously accepted HSS fixed sum offers and believe their claims were undervalued.
To ensure no stone is left unturned in uncovering the full extent of issues affecting postmasters, a new independent investigation into software used before Horizon has also now been confirmed.
This follows a recommendation from the Business, Innovation, Science and Trade Select Committee, with an independent investigator to establish a full understanding of other software applications and their potential impact. The evidence it produces will be used to inform any future considerations.
Notes to Editors
Registration remains open for the Horizon Family Members Redress Scheme, with claims processing expected to begin early next year. The scheme recognises that the impact of the scandal extended beyond postmasters to their families.
The Government also confirmed that the Restorative Justice programme is now fully operational, providing a voluntary process for postmasters and family members who wish to participate.
As of 30 September 2026, approximately £1,731 million has been paid to over 14,000 claimants for Horizon Redress schemes (Post Office Horizon financial redress data as of 30 September 2026 - GOV.UK )
Over £9 million has been paid to claimants on the Capture redress scheme (Post Office Capture financial redress data as of 30 September 2026 - GOV.UK)
