i always anticipate that i’ll be bored on long trips so i have a book an ebook my knitting a podcast and downloaded episodes of a show for my 8 hr bus ride to montreal. but what i forget about myself every time is that im really quite happy to just stare out the window for hours

being asked to speak up as a soft spoken person feels like psychological abuse and a humiliation ritual i’m not even kidding
when i think about it, it’s not many years since i had no real connections. no value. miserable. floating aimlessly. i eventually reached another planet. i am grateful for that. but it’s figuring out how to be a person! when i don’t have the energy! you know!
i am a notoriously terrible and distant friend but i have accepted that maybe that is my role for now. i think if i smell more smells and watch more movies and live more i can become an average friend. but it’s okay either way. i am experiencing things. i am an experience.

it's v annoying to see everyone respond to this complaint with "that's the point" or something to that effect. that doesn't change the fact that villeneuve has ripped out a significant chunk of the setting's arab/islamic influences and barely casts any actors of that ethnicity
