From Light to Insight. 🪔✨
Every Diwali, light brings colours, patterns, and celebrations to life. From hundreds of kilometres above Earth, it also reveals a different kind of artistry: the intricate landscapes and natural patterns that shape our planet.
This Diwali, we’re bringing you striking views of India, captured by Pixxel’s Firefly satellites. Each reveals a unique tapestry of colours, textures, and patterns that resemble nature’s own rangolis.
Wishing everyone a bright, colourful, and joyous Diwali! ✨
Light has always carried information about the world around us. C. V. Raman changed how we understood what it could reveal.
His discovery of the Raman Effect demonstrated how light interacts with matter, revealing insights into the composition and properties of materials and opening new possibilities for scientific exploration.
Nearly a century later, light continues to unlock new ways of understanding our planet. At Pixxel, our hyperspectral satellites capture light across hundreds of narrow wavelength bands, revealing details about Earth's surface that conventional imagery often misses.
On his birth anniversary, we celebrate the pioneering scientist whose curiosity reshaped our understanding of light and whose legacy continues to inspire new ways of seeing the world. 🌍

Replying to @PixxelSpace
@PixxelSpace has put Indian deeptech on the global map, but the company has faced a barrage of hate on X over the past week.
I sat down with @awaisahmedna as he responds to the witch hunt against Pixxel and answers the questions being raised about its ownership and national security.
Imagine trying to take a sharp photograph while travelling at 28,000 km/h. 🛰️Â
That's the speed at which satellites travel in low Earth orbit, capturing detailed imagery of Earth's surface. So how do they maintain precision while moving so fast?
Tracking crop changes through the seasons, one spectral signature at a time. đź“·
From peak growth to dormancy, Pixxel’s hyperspectral imagery captures how agricultural fields in Hidden Valley, Idaho, USA, changed between August 2025 and March 2026.
Using narrowband spectral indices, we can observe shifts in chlorophyll content, vegetation health, senescence, and post-harvest residue, revealing how crop conditions evolve across different stages of the growing cycle.
Explore how Pixxel’s hyperspectral data helps monitor crop health and track seasonal changes in vegetation.👇
Glimpses from Bihar SAAW 2026 in Patna! 🛰️
Organised by @INSPACeIND, the event brought together government stakeholders and industry experts to explore the role of Earth observation and geospatial intelligence in agriculture, forestry, water quality, critical mineral mapping, and land use.
The Pixxel team connected with stakeholders to discuss how our solutions can support informed decision-making and public sector applications.

It was a treat hosting @PixxelSpace co-founders @awaisahmedna and @kshitijgokul on @netcapglobal and learning how they are building the global planetary infrastructure from India.
They have recently raised $100 million from Temasek, Seraphim Space etc

Some of India’s sharpest builders started in dorm rooms instead of boardrooms, and our time at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani was proof. At Campus Connect 2026, we met the next generation of builders on a campus that has long been a launchpad for Indian founders.
With Campus Connect is simple, we want to reach young builders and give them the head start and the push to build something remarkable.
In that spirit, Manish Advani (@manishadvani12) sat down with Kshitij Khandelwal (@kshitijgokul) of Pixxel (@PixxelSpace) to share his entrepreneurial journey, one that began in a BITS dorm room. Hearing it from someone who walked the same corridors made the distance between a bold idea and a company feel a lot shorter.
Kanishk Mehta, Shourya Sodhani, Shreedhar Malpani, and Akshat Singh from our team spent the day in one-on-one coffee chats with students to help them understand the world of venture capital.
Huge thanks to everyone at BITS Pilani who made this happen. We can’t wait to see what you build. ✨
Pixxel is headed to Bihar SAAW 2026 in Patna! 🛰️
Join Archita Dey (Solutions Engineer), as she showcases how hyperspectral data, software, and multi-modal geospatial intelligence can support government applications across flood monitoring, crop health, critical mineral mapping, and land use and land cover (LULC).
Also meet, Gp Capt Debashish Sengupta (Director of Government Sales) and Akshat Jain (Product Lead-Aurora) to explore how space-based Earth observation can support better decision-making across sectors.
Building new possibilities through international collaboration! 🛰️
Pixxel has signed an MoU with @Scanway_SA. to explore opportunities in advanced optical technologies, satellite engineering, and Earth observation.
The agreement was signed during the Polish trade mission to India, held alongside the official visit of Poland’s Prime Minister and government delegation, in the presence of Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy, @Domanski_Andrz.
Together, we will explore the development of next-generation optical instruments, satellite data-based services, and opportunities in international markets, combining our expertise to strengthen technological capabilities and expand our global reach.
Pixxel will be at IMARC 2026 in Sydney, Australia, October 27–29! 🌎
Meet Shridutta Banerjee (Sales Manager), Terence Xie (Solutions Engineer), and Usha Simhadri (Manager of Partnerships) to explore how hyperspectral satellite data can help identify mineral signatures, map mineral distributions, and support more informed exploration decisions.
Connect with our team to discover how intelligence from space can support mineral exploration on the ground.

In January 2024, Shakuntala, Pixxel’s first pathfinder satellite, re-entered Earth’s atmosphere after spending over 600 days in space, marking the end of its mission.
But what happens when a satellite reaches the end of its mission?
