Spaces like #FIFAfrica26 create opportunities for those doing the complex work of advancing #DigitalRights across the continent to connect, learn and return home better equipped and stronger in their work. The #InternetFreedomAfrica community thrives on connections and trust. This has inspired some of the most effective coalitions, projects and initiaves in African the ecosystem which begun in a session room or over coffee at the Forum, then continued long after. Look out for this reflection by @ProvidenceBara3 whose first expereince with FIFAfrica was in 2019 (#Ethiopia). He highlights how he left with connections that shaped his advocacy on #DRCongo’s digital laws. Today he brings frontline insight on #TFGBV, #DigitalPublicInfrastructure (#DPI) and internet shutdowns back to the room for others to learn from. The impact of the Forum is measured in what happens after it has ended, and stories like this are the proof. If you had asked me a few weeks ago what an aerospace engineer does, I probably would have said, "They build planes." I would not have thought of satellites or technologies that orbit above us every day. This was a learning experience for me. Thank you, Larissa Ramaromanana!

#Zambia Deeply concerned by gvt’s "postponement" of @rightscon Requiring "disclosure of topics" for an "alignment with national values" is a clear violation of the rights to freedom of assembly, association and expression, and a deliberated attack on civic space. @ZambiaMFAIC 1/
