When a giant corporation swallows up a smaller competitor, market power consolidates, competition disappears, and costs go up for small businesses and consumers, while the rich get richer. The proposed merger between Sysco and Restaurant Depot threatens to do exactly that by driving up costs and putting additional pressure on the independent restaurants that are essential to Western New York’s economy. As your Representative, I will continue fighting to lower costs and protect Western New York's economy. The FTC must block this merger.
