Sending crypto on the wrong network is an easy mistake to make and a hard one to undo.  It comes down to one mix-up. Coins vs tokens.  Here's the simple version.  A coin has its own blockchain. 🔹 Bitcoin runs on the Bitcoin network.  🔹 Ethereum runs on the Ethereum network.  A token is built on a blockchain that already exists. USDC and USDT are tokens, and they run on networks like Ethereum.  Think of it this way: a coin is a road. A token is a vehicle driving on someone else's road.  Here's where it gets expensive. The same token can live on more than one network. The same way a vehicle can travel on multiple roads.    If you send the token on a network the receiving address doesn't support, it may never arrive. And getting it back isn't always possible.  So before you send, check two things:  🔹 Which asset you're sending  🔹 Which network the receiving address uses  It hardly takes 10 seconds and saves a lot of stress!  What's one crypto term you wish someone had explained to you sooner?

We just made the choice between the legacy app and the new RockWallet a lot easier. Starting today, Buy and Swap on the legacy app are limited to $200. The new RockWallet is where we’re building what’s next, and moving over takes just a few minutes. Yes, we know. It's a very persuasive way of saying "come on over." Here's what's waiting in the new RockWallet: 🔹 Buy and Swap in larger amounts. 🔹 20% lower fees compared to the legacy app when you buy crypto with a card 🔹 Passkey sign-in and stronger security 🔹 It's faster and simpler to use, from your first tap to the confirmation screen If you're still on the legacy app, we'd love to help you make the move. Contact [email protected] if you need any help.

1/ The Bitcoin four-year cycle confuses a lot of beginners. Here’s how to make sense of it in a few minutes. A Thread 🧵

4/ People have spotted patterns around past halvings. Analysts still can't come to a mutual conclusion on whether they’ll repeat. Four halvings is a small sample. It’s like guessing next summer’s weather from four old diary entries. The halving runs on a fixed schedule. The market runs on people.

6/ Price alone doesn't tell you the size of a project. Market cap does. Supply plays a role too. Bitcoin can never have more than 21 million coins. Plenty of other projects don't have any ceiling at all, so their supply just keeps growing.

7/ Price tells you what one coin costs. Market cap tells you how big the project actually is. What's a coin you almost bought because the price looked cheap?

5/ Bitcoin trades around $80,000 a coin. With about 19.9 million coins in circulation, that pizza is worth close to $1.59 trillion. That $0.05 coin? If 100 billion of them exist, its whole pizza comes out to $5 billion. Bigger price tag, way smaller pizza.

4/ There's a term for this: market cap. Market cap is the price of the whole pizza: price per slice times the number of slices. That's the total value of every coin out there right now.

3/ Here's an easy way to think about it. Picture a crypto project as a whole pizza. The price of one coin is the cost of a single slice. The number of coins in circulation is how many slices the pizza got cut into.

1/ If you've ever picked a coin because it "felt cheaper," this one's worth a read. Picture two coins on your screen. One costs $50. One costs $0.05. Which one feels like the better buy? A Thread 🧵

2/ Most people think, if I buy the cheaper coin, I get more coins for the same amount. So they end up buying the $0.05 coin. It's one of the easiest mistakes to make when you're starting out, and that instinct is wrong more often than you'd think.
