#BritishFoodFortnight is celebrating 25 years of championing home-grown food. Here in Scotland, it's a chance to recognise the farmers, crofters & producers who keep our shelves stocked & our rural communities thriving.
With 1000s of schools, hospitals, universities, care homes & hospitality businesses getting involved, it's a timely reminder that the whole supply chain has a role to play in making British produce the first choice.
๐ฌ๐ง British Food Fortnight is marking its 25th anniversary with a call for the supply chain to put British produce first.
Running from September 26 to October 11, the campaign will involve thousands of schools alongside hospitals, universities, care homes, hospitality businesses and retailers.
Love British Food said every sourcing decision, menu change and promotion offered an opportunity to build demand for British produce and strengthen relationships with British farmers, growers and suppliers.

What's the biggest opportunity for Scotland's food and drink sector right now?
One answer could be strengthening local supply chains and increasing Scottish sourcing.
More collaboration. More resilience. More value staying within Scotland. What do you think? ๐

SEVEN YEARS to get one tractor into one field!!
Back in 2019, we started working with @Matthew_Algie Coffee on a simple idea: could their waste coffee be composted alongside our farmyard manure, animal bedding and waste feed then returned to the soil at Mossgiel?
Today, it finally happened.
Coffee waste โ compost โ soil โ grass โ cows โ milk โ coffee.
Itโs taken TWO SEPA agreements, soil sampling, organic approval, paperwork to sinnk a ship and plenty of work from both teams; admittedly, us being a bit slow at times tooโฆ
But seeing that spreader going across the field today made all of it worthwhile.
"One persons muck is another's gold" is the old saying - sometimes waste is just something useful in the wrong place.
Seven years later, weโve finally closed the loop.
