Breaking: Michael Burry says Anthropic's IPO filing shows the whole AI boom is "catastrophically vulnerable" Below are his reasonings: 1. Anthropic owes $537B for computer power, and pending deals could push it to $800B 2. Anthropic brings in about $65B a year, so it owes about 12x what it makes 3. Half of $537B goes to $AMZN, $GOOGL and $MSFT 4. Anthropic's sales growth slowed from 144% last quarter to 46% this quarter, while its compute costs jumped 78% Burry says this setup works while AI keeps growing, but one slowdown could hit cause a collapse

A reminder that the #TripleLock gives Russia, China, the United States, France and the UK and, in future, potentially India, Pakistan, North Korea AND Israel the power to overturn defence decisions, including peacekeeping, made by the Government and People of Ireland.

Elon Musk said nobody has any plan for how to end the war in Ukraine. Not true, I have a plan. The plan is building as many ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and strike drones as humanely possible and launching so many of them into Russia that Russia begins to crumble.

Zelenskyy: I offered the US three options if they want us to stop hitting Russian refineries: 1. Russia stops attacking our energy. 2. Open Starlink over Russian ballistic missile launch sites. 3. Give us Patriot missiles. We got none. Instead, Starlink was restricted.

The recent Starlink / Starshield incident in Ukraine has created a dangerous precedence for the US export industry, many haven't yet grasped. The sudden deactivation respectively curtailing of those systems without warning not only cost precious lives, but also equipment worth millions. Though the blame game between the White House (Trump) and SpaceX (Musk) is going on, ultimately it doesn't matter. It showed the world that the USA are not a reliable partner any more. Pointing at some obscure "violation of terms of services" without providing the exact passage are just increasing that notion that this was a political move. The explanation that Starlink must not be used for "offensive" means is nonsense, too. Starlink has never been turned on over Russia, and using it in Ukraine is by definition defensive in nature. You can even argue that hitting Russian targets in Russia is defensive, since you don't have to wait for an attack to be conducted. Even the intention is enough to warrant action and to eliminate the threat at the source. But this is a different topic. Furthermore, SpaceX has been fully aware that its Starlink terminals are being used by Ukrainian forces. Especially when considering that Ukraine only recently had to white-list their Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military so that Russian forces, who have been abundantly using Starlink as well, were locked out. It has always been clear that those Starlink terminals are used for and by the Ukrainian military, and Ukraine has always been thankful for that. Coming up with this bogus story, now, three weeks before midterms is therefore as transparent as it is shameless. It is obvious for everyone that this was just figleaf statement so that a political agenda can be pushed, an agenda which runs counter to the strategic nationalist interests of the USA, both political and economic. And this is the real scandal. It is not new that the US had to lock out its technology or supplies to nations with which it had previously good and even cordial relation. Iran under the Shah, South-Vietnam and Cuba before Castro are just three to name it. But as you can see from them, it made perfectly sense back then. Those nations switched sides or disappeared altogether. Ukraine on the other hand didn't switch sides and even helped the US in the most recent and botched Iran war, despite being short on ammunition itself. The Ukrainian government accepted every possible compromise and offered an unconditional ceasefire from the start. Russia on the hand refused all of it and is demanding surrender. Yet, it gets this treatment? Unbelievable. This will be noted by all clients around the globe who purchase US weapons and technology. If agreements are not honored and can unilaterally and even clandestinely be altered based on the whims of a few, who only follow their own motives or election lies, then the all concept reliability falls apart. Whether it is Starlink, the F-35, Tomahawk missiles or HIMARS. All those systems run on software and in many cases can only properly operate with recent updates. You don't even need have a kill switch. You can only refuse to update and many of those systems lose more than 90% of their effectiveness within a short period, making worthless. This is why we see the blame game between Musk and Trump. I'm sure that people around those guys told them how absolutely shortsighted and stupid this step was. It will fall back on the entire US industry. Not even those two guys are worth that losses and backlash. A functional US Congress would immediately start subpoenas and hearings, asking questions in order to mitigate the damage, but here we are. Trump and Musk have given the best reason why not to buy American. Customers - governmental and private alike - around the globe will take note of this and act accordingly, and I wouldn't be surprised if this won't be limited to US military products only. An absolutely senseless and avoidable own goal.

Old MAGA white lady says I should “go back to my own country” if I don’t like Donald Trump’s America. So, I parked my buffalo in her driveway, set up my teepee on her front yard and said “I’m home, what’s for dinner?”

Three waves of ballistic missiles have been launched at Kyiv by Russian “humanitarians” since yesterday evening. They used 21 missiles. Unfortunately, numerous sites across the city have been hit and damaged: ordinary residential buildings, energy facilities, infrastructure at one of the railway stations and the metro, shopping malls, and businesses. Even a monastery is among the damaged sites. Our emergency services are working at all the affected locations. Twelve of our regions came under Russian attack overnight. In Kyiv and across the regions, 34 people were injured, including five children. As of now, two people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Almost immediately after another round of talks, Russia launched a pointed attack. This means there has been no real change in its attitude toward everything that is happening. It is important to keep trying to find the right solutions to end this war. But when Russia responds to negotiations with ballistic missiles, real pressure on Russia is needed to bring about different steps – steps toward ending the killing. Stronger air defenses and the rapid delivery of missiles, the ability to destroy ballistic missile launchers, sanctions over the war – all of this must be in place. I am grateful to everyone who sees the situation for what it is and acknowledges the reality. The aggressor deserves to be treated accordingly. Ukraine deserves support. People's lives deserve protection. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine!

👉 No other country in the world gives Trump 🇺🇸, Putin 🇷🇺 and Xi 🇨🇳 a veto over their own foreign policy. The Irish 'Triple Lock' is the opposite of national sovereignty. The world has drastically changed. Irish military neutrality remains steadfast but must adapt. .@sinnfeinireland seem to want Irish soldiers confined to their barracks. No young person wants to join such an army. Irish peacekeepers have a proud record around the world and are now needed more than ever. I welcome today's reform by the Irish parliament 🇮🇪.

The triple lock is obsolete. Our troops must be properly equipped to defend our nation and to carry out future peacekeeping missions. 🇮🇪🇪🇺

Removing the Triple Lock has zero impact on Ireland's neutrality. Zero. But it does increase Ireland's independence.
FF/FG moving to destroy what's left of Ireland's neutrality in the Dail this week - legislation to remove the triple-lock without a full debate and without the mandate of the people. Our neutrality belongs to the people not to this or any government. Say no to war and empire.

This. Understand that, if Elon Musk truly ordered the slowdown of Starshield, a private corporation, SpaceX, acting at the behest of its CEO, effectively dictated aspects of another country's defense operations by restricting a critical service on which its military depends. This seriously compromises the reliability and credibility of American defense companies and certainly makes SpaceX deeply suspect as a defense contractor. The question remains whether the ultimate order came from the White House (as suggested by a separate Reuters report) or whether Musk acted independently. It is clear that this entire episode needs to be investigated, and I strongly urge Congress to return from recess. The matter is too urgent to wait until after November 3. If the WSJ reporting is accurate, this is yet another sordid episode in this administration's record. Should the next administration be Democratic, Elon Musk must be investigated and, if misconduct is established, held accountable. The reliability and trustworthiness of both Musk and SpaceX are now very much in question. Elon Musk ordered the slowdown of a military-grade version of Starlink relied on by Ukraine, U.S. officials and people familiar with the matter said wsj.com/world/ukraine-starli… via @WSJ
