The current four-way stop at US 178, Baugh Road, Ruhamah Road, and Liberty Highway in Anderson County is being turned into a roundabout to help manage traffic flow and enhance safety for drivers. 🔄 Construction is expected to be completed by June 2027.

🎉 The Miller Road bridge over Shot Pouch Branch in Sumter County is now open to traffic! The bridge was replaced in order to correct structural and functional deficiencies. The new bridge restores access for drivers, improving connectivity and helping keep drivers moving.

The first of two new flyover ramps at the I-26 and I-95 interchange is now open to traffic! Traffic traveling from I-95 SB to I-26 EB has been shifted to the first completed flyover ramp, alleviating congestion and improving the flow of traffic between the two interstates!

We're paving in the Pee Dee! 🛣️ You’ll notice a smoother ride traveling down Antioch Rd in Hartsville. Over 3.5 miles of resurfacing work began in late August and was completed in early September. This project boasts a widened road and improved subgrade for added safety.

SCDOT is hard at work replacing the SC 9 bridge over Wildcat Creek in Lancaster County. The new bridge is being built alongside the current one so traffic can continue flowing smoothly throughout construction.

Once completed, the roadway will be realigned and traffic will shift to the new structure, which will feature a modern design, wider lanes, and improved sightlines for drivers. The old bridge will then be demolished. Construction is expected to be complete by late fall 2027. 🚧

🚨 Open for Traffic - Ben Sawyer Bridge The Ben Sawyer Bridge has been safely reopened for vehicle traffic. The bridge was closed late yesterday due to a mechanical issue. Crews were able to complete the necessary temporary repairs overnight.

Heavy commercial trucks are currently restricted. This does not impact emergency response vehicles or school buses. Further evaluation and repairs will be necessary to facilitate continuous openings for marine traffic. We will continue to provide updates as they are available.

🚨Traffic Update - Ben Sawyer Bridge A mechanical issue is preventing the main bridge span from locking back into place properly. Crews will work overnight to make a temporary repair that will allow the bridge to reopen to vehicular traffic.

In Orangeburg County, SCDOT is actively working to replace the bridge over Willow Swamp! 🚧👷‍♂️ SC 332 (Norway Road) is currently closed between Springflower Dr and Harrison Ave while work is ongoing. The bridge replacement is on track to be completed before the end of the year!

The new pavement on SC 121 in Saluda County stretches 14 miles. Crews added rumble strips and new painted lines throughout as part of this Rural Road Safety Project. If you’re traveling through the area, enjoy the smooth new ride along SC 121! 🚗

SCDOT recently wrapped up a pavement improvement project in Allendale County, and the results are *borderline* amazing. 😎 Our team upgraded four miles of US 301, starting just east of the Georgia-South Carolina border line and ending right before River Road.

The US 378 bridge over the Little Saluda River in Saluda County is making progress! 👀 There’s still work ahead, like guardrails, roadway approaches, and paving, but it’s exciting to see how much has changed! Opening Summer 2027. 🚧
