Building Ontario Faster Act (2026) is about less red tape, faster approvals, and a stronger Ontario.
We are cutting red tape and permit processing delays to speed up approvals, fortify our supply chains and create the most competitive economy in the G7.

And we’re off to a great start at CGA Energy Week 2026!
A powerful opening with remarks from Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce, Premier Doug Ford and CGA Board Chair Michele Harradence, setting the tone for an exciting week ahead.
The message is clear: Natural gas plays a foundational role in Canada’s energy security and economic competitiveness — today and well into the future.
From fuelling industry and supporting electricity generation to keeping homes and businesses running, Canada’s gas energy infrastructure is essential to building a reliable, affordable and competitive energy future.
We're just getting started! Stay tuned for more conversations.

Reliable, affordable energy is the foundation of a strong and competitive economy.
At the @cga_acg, I joined @fordnation and industry leaders to underscore the critical role of natural gas in powering Ontario’s growth.
This government unveiled the first 25-year Natural Gas Policy Statement and expanded our natural gas fleet as an essential insurance policy.
Canada is blessed as the fifth-largest natural gas producer on earth. It's time we build the all-Canadian Northern Shield Energy Corridor to enhance energy reliability, affordability, and independence.
Ontario’s electricity grid must keep pace with soaring electricity demand. Ontario's utilities were designed for a different era — last updated in 1998.
The status quo is not working if we want to protect jobs and grow the economy.
Following expert advice, Ontario is future-proofing the electricity grid by leveling up across the board: elevating standards, accelerating approvals, and working together to build and buy more at home.
This is a key pillar in @fordnation’s plan to build the strongest and most competitive economy in the G7.
Our most sincere thanks to PULSE panelists, including Chair Anthony Haines, Paula Conboy, Alexander Nuttall, and David MacNaughton, for the invaluable insights, meaningful engagement and advice.
We also want to express gratitude to key partners from @AMOPolicy to @EDA_ONT to @energyontario and so many other important voices as we work to improve and invest in a modern grid and economy.
And finally, we appreciate @RobFlackEML’s partnership as we work to bolster the economy of small towns and villages, and Ontario's biggest cities.
The stakes could never be higher for our economy, and yet the utility sector has not been reformed since 1998.
It's time to level up and to move with speed to grow our economy.
@LondonHydro, like so many utilities and municipalities support Ontario's modernization to cut costs, attract investment, protect consumers, and squarely meet soaring electricity demand.

Quote from Vince Brescia, President & CEO of the OEA:
Watch LIVE as @RobFlackEML, @Rae_Matt, @RudyCuzzetto, @davidsmithmpp & I unveil our plan to level-up across Ontario’s aging electricity utilities as we meet soaring demand.
We will move faster, build bigger and buy more Made-in-Canada to strengthen our grid, protect consumers, and power Ontario’s economic future.

Congratulations to two partners and friends, @StevenDelDuca and @MayorPellegrini, on their decisive re-election as Mayors of Vaughan and King.
Looking forward to working with you to keep taxes low and our streets safe.
There is no better place to invest than Ontario — because we are moving with speed.
A welcome message at @AmericasForum, as we supercharge mine permitting, nuclear expansion, and an all-Canadian pipeline.

A beautiful afternoon with my extended family at the Seniors’ Association of Vaughan Initiative’s (SAVI) annual Culture Fest.
From one generation to the next, thank you for the sacrifice, hard work, and for believing in Canada.
Always impressed by the generosity of our community — families who turn loss into legacy.
It was uplifting to join @StevenDelDuca and @nadeem_mahmood to welcome a $100,000 donation from Asif Khan in honour of his late wife.
This donation will support STEM education for over 600 students at the new Tanya Khan Public Elementary School, a beautiful example of light in the darkness.
Canada is Chile’s largest foreign investor, with mining at the heart of our economic partnership.
Joined @fordnation, @VictorFedeli, and @Rae_Matt in welcoming Chile’s Ambassador to Canada, Jaime Baeza Freer, as we discussed efforts to expand our economic and resource partnership.
Strong alignment as we accelerate resource development to boost the $1.5 billion annual Ontario-Chile trade relationship, supported by a longstanding free-trade agreement.
Small businesses are the heart of King and Vaughan.
This #SmallBusinessWeek, Ontario is saving businesses $160 million with lower WSIB premiums, building off @ninatangri and @fordnation’s 30% small business tax cut.
Grateful to every small business owner and worker for keeping our economy strong.
A strong team delivering results for Ontario and Canada.
Looking forward to continuing to work alongside @RudyCuzzetto and @davidsmithmpp as Parliamentary Assistants to the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Together with @Rae_Matt, we are advancing generational nuclear energy expansion, faster mining permitting, all-Canadian pipelines, and a stronger Canadian supply chain.
With continuity, renewed ambition, and a relentless focus on speed, we will build on this momentum with @fordnation to unleash our full economic potential for Ontario and for Canada.
After 25 years, @MagnaMining is bringing Sudbury’s Crean Hill mine back to life with a $127 million redevelopment.
We have created the conditions for companies like Magna to invest with confidence, accelerate mine development and create good-paying jobs.
And we will go even further, standing up for Canadian workers, our own economy, and the most ethically sourced resources on Earth.

Last year, Ontario secured an agreement that eliminated federal duplication for the roads to the Ring of Fire.
This summer, we got shovels in the ground on the roads to the Ring of Fire five years ahead of schedule.
Today, @fordnation and the Prime Minister announced that the Federal Government will match Ontario's existing $1 billion commitment to build the roads.
With tariff and trade uncertainty, this is another step forward as we advance responsible resource development that will create 70,000 good jobs and unlock $22 billion for Canada's economy.
