the idea that someone who condemns the genocide and wants to end all military aid to Israel somehow “doesn’t believe in universal human rights” because his opponent conveniently decided she suddenly really cared about Gaza when she was running for office against a Jew is absurd
SF YIMBY Rescinds its endorsement of Manny Yekutiel

ALT SF YIMBY Rescinds its endorsement of Manny Yekutiel Following new allegations of sexual assault against Manny Yekutiel, SF YIMBY has withdrawn its #2 endorsement of him. Sexual assault is never acceptable, and a pattern of sexual assault from someone seeking elected office is disqualifying. We call on Manny to end his campaign for District 8 Supervisor so our city can focus on the key issues that matter to San Franciscans.
Thank you!
The SHADE Act is moving forward to end bogus appeals against housing in San Francisco, as it just got unanimous approval at the Land Use Committee on the Board of Supervisors.
Over the last decade, over 2000 homes have been blocked or delayed from being built due to NIMBYs exploiting our environmental laws, appealing these housing developments on the basis they cast a "shadow".
With our SHADE Act, such appeals will no longer be possible. Blocking hundreds of units of housing on a vacant parking lot in SOMA will no longer be possible. Delaying 100% affordable housing in the Mission, will no longer be possible.
And this by no means weakens our environmental laws - it merely aligns local law with state standards, while keeping existing voter approved measures like Prop K completely intact.
Thank you @SFyimby and @HACdotorg for your support, and Supervisors Melgar, Chen, Dorsey for voting to approve the measure today, alongside Supervisor Sauter cosponsoring.
Come join us tomorrow to canvass for Gary McCoy, our #1 endorsed candidate for District 8 supervisor (and longtime SF YIMBY member!)

Hundreds of #SanFrancisco Marina residents turned out this evening for townhall on controversial @Safeway housing plan, which would place what for many is an uncomfortably tall, 22 & 18 story project at the low-slung neighborhood’s waterfront.
