I didn’t know what this record was going to be when I started it. Parts of it happened a while back whilst still touring Fragments and the rest slowly came into focus in the following couple of years whilst still moving constantly.
Lots of things have shifted since then, both personally and in the world, and I’d like to think this album is reflective of that. Where I am now but also all the time and music that’s come before it. I’m enormously grateful to still be here doing this and for everyone who’s stayed onboard

A look behind the video series for Me and You, Drift and Uncasually.
For Distance In Static I wanted the visual world to feel natural but otherworldly. It started with looking closely at natural materials and playing with scale, from microscopic images of minerals and crystals used in the artworks through to the much bigger landscapes in these films.
We shot all three in an active quarry in Serbia. With so much imagery becoming increasingly AI-generated it felt important to go in the opposite direction and make something completely real and analogue. Everything was shot practically on location, including the controlled explosions.
The films were commissioned by John Moule, who played a big part in bringing many of my videos to life over the years. Sadly these were his final commissions before his passing. Grateful for everything we made together.

「Talk to Me」は、アルバム収録曲の中でも特に早い段階で制作された楽曲のひとつ。前作『Fragments』のリリース直後にデモ制作が始まり、2023年にアムステルダムで行われたBoiler RoomのDJセットでは、すでに初期バージョンが披露されていた。
