At SkySafe, we believe that understanding drone activity goes beyond detection. The data drones generate can provide critical insights that help investigative teams uncover what happened, connect the dots, and build stronger cases. We’re proud to have supported the Kosovo Forensic Agency in advancing its drone forensics capabilities through hands-on training in data acquisition, analysis, and investigative procedures. Shout-out to Joshua Smith from SkySafe, who helped make this knowledge-sharing opportunity possible through his work with the Fulbright Specialist Program. Thank you, Josh, for representing SkySafe and contributing to the development of these important capabilities. We’re also grateful to the Kosovo Forensic Agency and the Fulbright Specialist Program for making this collaboration possible. Partnerships like these demonstrate the value of sharing expertise and equipping investigative teams with the tools and knowledge to navigate an evolving drone landscape. #SkySafe #DroneForensics #DigitalForensics #UAS #Kosovo #Fulbright #FulbrightSpecialist

What does FAA Section 2209 mean for the future of drone security around critical infrastructure? SkySafe CRO Melissa Swisher joined the Drone Radio Show to discuss the legislation and what it could mean for protecting sensitive sites from unauthorized drone activity. As drone use continues to grow, protecting critical infrastructure requires more than knowing a drone is nearby. Security teams need persistent visibility into the drones operating in their airspace, who is operating them, and what their activity reveals. Listen to Melissa’s conversation on FAA Section 2209 and the evolving challenges of critical infrastructure protection. 🎧 Listen to the episode: na2.hubs.ly/H08wd3k0 #CounterUAS #AirspaceAwareness #Section2209 #DroneRadioShow

Wildfire response is already a race against time. The last thing firefighters need is an unknown drone forcing aircraft out of the sky. Yet drone incursions around wildfires are increasing. According to the National Interagency Fire Center, as of October 5th, 82 incidents have been reported in 2026. That’s a 53% increase over 2025.  The challenge isn't simply detecting a drone. It's knowing what you're dealing with and where it's coming from. When every second matters, emergency teams need visibility into the airspace around an incident, including the drone, its operator and its activity. Detection is the starting point. Airspace intelligence is what helps responders act. #DroneSecurity #Wildfire #CUAS #PublicSafety

SkySafe’s CRO Melissa Swisher recently joined Greg @Toroosian, host of the Machine Minds podcast, to talk about a challenge many critical infrastructure operators are only beginning to confront: airspace awareness. A few key takeaways: 🔷 Security can't stop at the fence line. Critical infrastructure has invested heavily in securing what happens on the ground. But as drones become more accessible and capable, the airspace above those facilities is becoming an increasingly important part of the security picture. 🔷 A detection is just a data point. Knowing that “a drone is there” isn't enough. Connecting sightings, flight history, movements across sites and changes in behavior can reveal patterns and provide the context needed to understand what actually requires action. 🔷 C-UAS isn't a one-technology problem. RF, radar, cameras, acoustics and mitigation each solve different pieces of the puzzle. Effective counter-UAS requires a layered approach where technologies work together to provide a more complete picture. The future of drone security isn't just about detecting more drones. It's about understanding what's happening in your airspace and knowing what to do about it. 🎙️ Listen to the full conversation at the link in the comments below. #MachineMindsShow #AirspaceAwareness

Think your organization can't afford a drone defense system? The bigger question may be: have you looked at the funding that's available? The University of Louisiana Monroe used FEMA funding to deploy drone detection and improve visibility into its airspace. Their experience offers a roadmap for other organizations looking to fund drone security initiatives. From FEMA and state homeland security programs to UASI, port security, and campus safety funding, there may be more options than you think. The key is building the case around the security problem and operational impact, not simply buying new technology. We break down the lessons, funding sources, and steps organizations can take to build a stronger case for drone defense. Read the guide and start building your funding strategy: na2.hubs.ly/H08dG4G0

Remote ID tells you what a drone wants you to know. RF detection tells you what’s actually happening. Nefarious drone operators aren't exactly known for following the rules. They can disable or avoid Remote ID, leaving security teams with limited visibility. SkySafe takes a different approach. Our passive RF technology detects and analyzes the signals between a drone and its controller, helping security teams identify drones even when Remote ID isn't available. No cooperative broadcast required. No waiting for the drone to identify itself. Detect the drone. Locate the operator. Understand the activity. Protect your airspace. #remoteID #dronedetection

A drone alert shouldn't be the end of the conversation. It should be the start. If all your system can tell you is “there’s a drone,” you're still missing some of the most important information. SkySafe uses passive RF detection to go beyond simply telling you that a drone is nearby. By analyzing the signals between the drone and its controller, SkySafe can help security teams identify the drone, locate the operator, and understand flight activity in their airspace. #rfdetection #airspaceintelligence #dronesecurity

The next security challenge for critical infrastructure isn't at the gate. It's in the air. Drones can fly over power plants in seconds, collecting information and creating operational concerns before security teams even know they're there. That's why drone detection and airspace intelligence are becoming essential, giving operators visibility into low-altitude airspace activity and helping them move from awareness to action. The next security threat might not come through the gate. It could come from above. From airports and stadiums to critical infrastructure, unauthorized drones can put people, operations, and security at risk. SkySafe helps security teams see what’s happening in their airspace, in real time. Are you watching what’s happening above you?

It's the fourth quarter of a rivalry football game. 80,000 fans are in the stands. The game is nationally televised. Security teams are focused on the crowd, the sidelines, and the entrances. Then someone spots a drone. Where did it come from? Who is flying it? Is it heading toward the stadium or just passing by? For the next few minutes, nobody knows. That's the challenge facing colleges and universities today. Drone incursions can appear without warning, creating uncertainty during pivotal moments. Through SkySafe's National Campus & Stadium Airspace Initiative, colleges and universities can take advantage of special pricing and lock in our lowest rate by September 15. Learn how to gain greater visibility into your campus airspace before the next drone appears. Link in comments below.
