Sam Altman has responded to backlash over his controversial comments about people having RAM in their PCs.
Altman said that his comments had been taken out of context.
“I actually do want the world to have tons of memory and people to put as much as they want in their computers, and it is fucking annoying that this was taken out of context,”
“I want you to have so much RAM. Let’s build more.”
Altman even changed his name on X to “Ram Altman”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers.
“Everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,”
He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.
Tell your parents it’s a lot easier to convince them to buy one prebuilt then a bunch of computer parts
