Quentin Lake reveals the Rams locker room went silent after Sean McVay announced Jared Verse had been traded for Myles Garrett, admitting he was heartbroken to lose his close friend
Lake recalls arriving at the facility that day and having no idea the trade was actually going to happen. Verse was in good spirits, joking around, talking trash and lifting weights like he normally did.
Then came an emergency team meeting. Lake says those meetings usually meant something serious had happened, and when McVay walked in, he went straight to the point.
The announcement left the entire room stunned. Lake says you could hear a pin drop, especially because Verse was actually sitting in the meeting.
Lake, who shared a locker with Verse, admits he was hurt by the news. He had been hoping the rumours were just speculation, and the thought of seeing his close friend leave for Cleveland made the moment even harder to take.
