There has always been two hard problems in computer science.
1. naming things
2. cache management
3. off by one errors
We've shipped Buildkite Cache, the first of several building blocks we're putting in place to make CI radically faster.
We've learnt a lot from how the fastest companies in the world run their CI. Great caching isn't just one technique, it's several working together: what you reuse, where it lives, and which work you can avoid doing in the first place.
We're starting with a save and restore primitive to control cached files across jobs, on hosted or self-hosted agents. You choose what goes into the cache key, when to fall back to an older entry, and which builds can share the cache.
There's a lot more coming.

I've been involved with the AI Agent Protocol W3C Community Group for most of this year.
In this thread, I'll explain what this protocol is and how it will help shape the agentic web in the future...

Hot take: Virtually all knowledge work roles will be gone within 20 years.
Thoughts? I'm working on a blog post and video about it...
I got sick of the ads on Stardew Planner v3 so I built my own open source one.

I just realized I maintain more than a dozen cool projects, most of them open source. I just created a single spot to see what I've been up to lately. fluin.io/projects
We just expanded DevFestMN 2026 to two tracks! That was the top request from last year. That means we need your awesome content. Come and speak! We're a super welcoming community devfest.mn/speaker-cfp
It seems like everyone wants search augmented AI responses, so I built it. Try it out now friendlai.xyz
I have a new plan. Recently I decided I want to walk more, and I also decided I want to watch all of Star Trek (most for the 2nd/3rd time, but I haven't watched almost any of the last 10 years). I'm smushing these two together in my Star Trek Walk Plan! All caught up 2028-12-23!
I've been working on my own AI platform for a while now and it's time to try out the experiment and give me feedback. The idea is a decentralized platform for running open models more cheaply. Run a node yourself with spare capacity and I share the revenue

Apparently I've been writing no-op lines of code into every Angular app I've built for the last 7 years. Don't be like me. #angular
