About to set off on one of the busier weeks of travel I’ve had in a while. Friends in Minneapolis who fancy a coffee or a beer Monday afternoon or New Yorkers who are around Wednesday afternoon, drop me a note!

writing will simply be like coding, many people will eventually find styles that work for them. kudos to Nat for experimenting with this in public I think a lot of writers are scared to experiment because unlike nat, they see themselves as only writers we are going to have new native-ai writers who develop a style with AI and never write the "old way" we will have holdouts who never embrace these technologies we will have more writers than ever

AI Mode Usage Is Outpacing Ad Revenue -> Google's Philipp Schindler (finally) explained that AI mode was yielding lower monetization than traditional search... "Schindler’s point was narrow. Each AI Mode query currently makes less than a traditional search, and he coupled that with the claim that monetization will improve over time." "Usage only turns into revenue when advertisers pay for it. Schindler announced “the expansion of ads in AI Mode into international markets alongside multi-turn ads in AI Mode in the U.S.” He also argued that many AI Mode queries are upper funnel, meaning early research before a purchase decision." 247wallst.com/investing/2026…

They say reading is on the decline, but I’m at 66.6k words this week and I’m only in 49th on the Readerboard. All the readers are on Readwise Books. It’s delightful, my favorite app. There are a bunch of little things they do to make the reading experience better and it’ll only get better from here. Come join and try to outread me.

Bingo
every product i use should just be a headless mcp, that feeds into an agent, where i never have to think about anything underneath. except for our product, of course. in our product, customers love the ui and love us very much. we're special that way.

Isn't openrouter essentially just a payment wallet for your agent? Feels like we might end up with agent native payments after all....

Anyone in the children's book publishing world that's interested in a weird, imaginative art-forward kids book? Erin has a dummy ready for agents and publishers.... would love an intro 🙏

Someone is going to clean up by offering a "writing with ai" course that outputs at the same level as @vgr

Argon is wild. Just a little push and it descends into madness....

(Mostly unfair because this is just latex formatting bugs in the output - but/and the reasoning chain is wild and wonderful)
