🚫 Don’t Purchase Backlinks.
After 20 years in SEO, I can confidently say this — never buy backlinks from agencies. Most of them build links from low-quality sites, link farms, or junk blogs with little to no real authority.
Sure, you’ll see a temporary spike in backlinks and referring domains on your SEO dashboard. But sooner or later, Google will catch up. When that happens, those links will either be devalued or worse — you might face a manual action.
If you’re lucky, Google will simply ignore them as ranking signals. If not, you’ll be dealing with penalties that are much harder to recover from.
💡 My Personal Experience.
When I launched UXsniff about three years ago, I felt frustrated — it was tough to get organic backlinks for a new product. So, I tried what many founders do — I purchased around 2,000 backlinks from an “SEO agency.”
At first, it looked promising. The domain rating went up within weeks.
But soon after, those backlinks disappeared or were removed from Google’s ranking signal altogether. That short-term boost wasn’t worth it.
So I stopped chasing links. Instead, I focused entirely on building real value — improving UXsniff’s features and making the product genuinely useful to users.
🌱 The Real Reward
Fast forward to late 2024 — UXsniff was organically mentioned by Ahrefs (ahrefs.com/blog/marketing-an…) and Moz (moz.com/blog/ai-seo-tools) in their blog posts. Those two backlinks alone are worth more than the 2,000 low-quality ones I paid for.
That’s the lesson:
👉 Focus on creating something valuable.
👉 Earn your backlinks — don’t buy them.
Because real recognition from respected sources will always outweigh thousands of fake signals.
Big step for UXsniff. We started with heatmaps and session recordings. Today we’re AI-powered and adding Time-Travel A/B Testing.
