As co-chair of the WHO Commission on Social Connection, I am honored to share our new landmark report. 1 in 6 people worldwide experience loneliness with profound consequences for health. Let’s build a world where no one feels alone.

The world has lost a bright light with the passing of Ann Korologos. I will remember most her kindness, unfailing generosity, contagious laughter, and the deep love she shared with her husband Tom. May you be at peace, dear friend. We miss you. washingtonpost.com/obituarie…
A beautiful, heartfelt tribute from the wonderful @celinegounder to her late husband Grant. And a powerful reminder that the growing wave of health misinformation puts all of us at risk. Wishing peace and healing for Céline in the days ahead. nytimes.com/2023/01/08/opini…
After a few long days with both kids sick, now listening to the quiet breathing of my son as he sleeps on my shoulder. In awe that a simple sound can bring such peace. #parenting
What a beautiful post. Made me smile after a long day. #parenting
On stage I opened my notes and was surprisingly greeted by my 2 and 3 year old. On. Every. Single. Page. Couldn’t read a thing. But so worth it 🥰 #workingmom #missedthem
What a day to be a Wolverine. Congrats #MichiganFootball
Thank you to the countless people in 2022 who reminded me through their quiet examples that there is still great kindness, compassion and generosity in the world. #HappyThanksgiving2022
Our 2 little kids have chopped 7 apples in preparation for 1 giant apple pie. #Thanksgiving2022 🥧
What an incredible list of speech recommendations - thank you so much! Reposting original post and comments here for anyone else looking for moments of inspiration and hope.
A request: I'm looking for recommendations on inspiring speeches. Any favorites? Could be from any time, any field, and could include speech compilations/mashups too. Much appreciated!
Posted in the drop off area at our kids’ school. Meant for children. Good for everyone. @atychen
Know yourself.
Be yourself.
Love yourself.

Something quite profound about this. A practice as simple as walking can help us heal our mind and our body.
One of my favorite hospital rituals was reflecting on poetry with my team. An excerpt:
“What is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart…It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit…Work is love made visible.”
“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and the pain of it no less than the excitement and the gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it…all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.”
F. Buechner
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Pondering this quote (attributed to T. Roosevelt). Our moments of deepest fulfillment and joy often don’t require being measured against the yardstick of other people’s accomplishments or opinions. In such moments, we just know what matters.
Thank you friends for the kind birthday wishes.
45 revolutions around the sun. Thousands of moments of joy, peace, clarity, and inspiration. Countless reminders that love, faith, and relationships are everything. Grateful for all life's blessings and hopeful for what comes next.
