Very sad day. Sir Patrick, far beyond personifying an unforgettable character (Capt. Picard of course), taught me how to speak/locution (haha locutus, get it?), how to be a leader and even how to just be. Way back when ST:TNG first aired, my brother and I used to watch it, and him, in the cold evenings of Syracuse, in awe. He made a good future, a good humanity in the future, so possible, so accessible.
Over the decades I have revisited his episodes, his unforgettable scenes, his iconic lines perhaps thousands of times. "They say when you've traveled far enough you meet yourself -- having done that, number one, it is not an experience I care to repeat" is one that comes to me as I write this. There were so many.
Even in his 80s with his new Picard show, and with the recent X-men movies, he had the same grace and depth and beauty about him...
Time gets us all. Now he is gone but he gave us so much to look up to and to remember him by. RIP Sir Patrick. You are a legend and we will miss you.

Yes, AI's benefits are real. Rare but for sure real. Especially in the hands of people who know what they are doing.
More details soon. Come ride the waves with us...

Few actors possessed the intensity, individuality and unmistakable presence that Shri Nana Patekar Ji had. He brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role and gave us characters that will be remembered for generations. He was also admired for his frank and forthright views, never hesitating to express what he believed in.
Shri Nana Patekar’s contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema was immense. His passing leaves a deep void. My condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. Om Shanti.

Surprising and timely results (esp w/ @Openai Demo Day).
A few concrete takeaways:
1. The frontier is basically a set of models, not a single point. Jaggedness smooths w/ ensembling
2. Model version updates may enhance certain learning capabilities, but even w/ the frontier regime, there is no free lunch
3. The environment matters as much as the model.
4. Winning every average doesn't make a model safe to swap in.
5. Jaggedness may be the steady state - models aren't less jagged even when they are "better".

Great work, @Yangyue_Wang!
We ran GPT-6 Astra, Opus 5.5, Fable 5 and four other frontier models on a variety of agentic tasks across digital and physical domains: web tasks, driving, robot manipulation, industrial procedures and assembly.
We’re releasing a technical report, sharing details for an invited talk, and releasing a new dataset of frontier traces and item level results you can use in your research.
Every model is jagged on every axis we tested. Astra has the top score at 78.5%, yet Fable 5 and Opus 5.5 each solve 10 tasks Astra fails. In all 21 model pairs, the lower-scoring model solves at least 3 tasks the higher-scoring one misses.
The map places each VWA task on a circle. Similar instructions sit together, harder tasks sit closer to the center, and failure clusters rise as hills.

RIP Nirmal Purja (Urf NimsDai). You inspired countless people, mountain climbers and otherwise.
At a difficult time your fourteen peaks was inspirational and healing to me.
