Make sure to know the audience and provide what they want by balancing familiar with weird niche, don鈥檛 sway too heavily on one side expecting for audience to understand and love the character. I鈥檝e seen this happen in previous place I have worked at. Worst is taking that chance without understanding and considering the risk. That鈥檚 the worst. And it seems like the entire Concord took that chance without understanding the risk especially for Live service game that banks on character relatability.

Dragon Age could have had its own Baldur's Gate 3 moment, according to former series lead Mark Darrah.
Darrah believes BioWare could have followed the path from Dragon Age: Origins towards a deeper, more complex RPG similar to Larian's hit. Instead, the studio moved towards simpler and more accessible games to appeal to a wider audience.
"You can imagine a world where BioWare follows a line that leads from Dragon Age: Origins to something that looks a lot like Baldur鈥檚 Gate 3,"
He points to Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition as examples of that shift, arguing that trying to appeal to everyone ultimately meant losing some of what made the original RPG special.
