If Notre Dame is ranked in the top 10 in 2028, it would be the first time a top-10 non-B1G team played a game in Champaign since 1986 (#6 Nebraska). And before you ask about 1990 Colorado, they were #11 going into that game.

We discussed the 1994 NCAA tourney game against Georgetown in this episode & I wanted to put some stats to it: Georgetown was a team of bigs (Othella The Big Fella & Don Ried). Their starting guards both shot under 30% from three. And then they hit 6 of 8 threes and won 84-77. You kids won't understand this but teams shooting lights out from three used to be our thing in the NCAA Tournament. Georgetown in 1994, some guy named Sarunas Jasikevicius for Maryland in 1998, Notre Dame shooting 55% from three in 2003. So many "how is this happening?" games.

We've had lots of freshmen play lots of openers against lots of terrible teams. But.. Coleman: 13 pts, 10 rbs, 6 ast Brown: 12 pts, 9 rbs, 7 ast Zens: 12 pts, 3 rbs Morillo: 9 pts, 8 rebs L. Davis: 6 pts, 4 rbs 52 pts & 34 rbs, even against this competition, is outlandish.
