AI makes market research 10x faster. But speed only matters if you ask the right question.
Research that once took hours can now happen in minutes, but faster answers are only useful if teams know which signals matter, how to frame the right strategic question, and where human judgment still needs to lead.
Join @ServiceNow's Leon Markham and our own Sina Falaki to learn how strategy teams turn signals into executive-ready points of view. alpha-sense.com/resources/we…
Interview with an industry expert on why every major retailer is now building its own shopping agent ($META, $WMT, $TGT, $AMZN):
- The expert expects the usual e-commerce flow of searching, browsing a product list, and checking out to fade as shopping agents spread. Retailers are moving from chat-style assistants toward automated agents that know what a customer buys regularly and can suggest a restock and place the order for them. Every retailer is now building its own version.
- According to the expert, even in-store purchases can be linked to an online profile when paid with a saved card or the retailer's own payment method. Customers who only shop in-store are harder to identify, so retailers try to bring them online, since more online customers means more agentic shopping.
- The expert says everyone is still early in letting external personal agents shop their sites. $WMT lets Muse in, while $AMZN has restricted it. This raises the question of whether outside agents take usage away from a retailer's own agent, and the expert expects a world where agents talk to agents. $META and OpenAI both launched personal agents in the last three weeks, but so far only Muse is well understood.
- The expert sees AI shifting from tools people use to do their work toward personal agents that automate recurring manual tasks, with shopping and ticket buying as clear examples. Productivity is rising at every level and in every industry.
- The expert flags two open concerns. The first is safety and privacy, since people may be uneasy letting agents handle sensitive matters like health data, taxes, or bank details, particularly when account access is shared across multiple agents. The second is token economics, as companies with billions invested in CapEx still need to show a return from agent subscription plans.

Former $AAPL employee on why $AAPL could become the most trusted AI player ($META, $GOOGL, $AMZN):
- The expert sees $AAPL as behind $GOOGL and OpenAI in reasoning capability but holding a structural advantage that is difficult to replicate, centered on personal context. Through its hardware ecosystem, $AAPL is continuously building a detailed profile of who the user is, in a way that no other AI player can match without the user actively feeding that data themselves. The expert sees this personal context layer as $AAPL's real competitive edge in AI, with Apple Intelligence positioned to tap into all of that data in a way that could meaningfully differentiate it from $GOOGL and OpenAI over time.
- The expert sees privacy and security as $AAPL's most underappreciated competitive edge in AI, with on-device processing and data not being used to train other models positioning $AAPL as the most trusted player for users who are skeptical of the broader AI ecosystem.
- According to the expert, wearables rather than Macs or laptops will be the most important AI hardware category over time, since always-on devices that travel with the user throughout the day are far better suited to proactive AI assistance than session-based devices. The shift toward wearables is seen as the direction the industry is heading, with this always-on form factor creating far stronger stickiness than anything a laptop or desktop can offer.
- The expert sees proactive assistance as the capability users do not know they want until they experience it, pointing to an AI tool that, with permission, uses what it knows about a person's plans, calendar, and weather to push timely reminders and advice without being asked. The expert argues that if a tool holds that much personal context but does not act on it proactively, the companies that do push hard on proactive help will ultimately win.
- The expert sees services as the biggest category to watch for $AAPL, with tiered subscriptions as a major long-term ecosystem play. A tiered Apple Intelligence offering could add meaningful recurring revenue, but the expert notes $AAPL would first need to make its free Apple Intelligence competitive with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, where it currently falls short.

$TSLA CEO Elon Musk says he expects AI, electromechanical design, reliability, and usage duration issues for Optimus to be solved around the end of next year, which is when they would start delivering to companies outside Tesla. He remains convinced Optimus and humanoid robots generally will be the biggest product on Earth, with no one even close to Tesla on a general-purpose humanoid robot. On Terafab, machinery commissioning begins in the first half of next year, with a first test chip targeted around May or June and useful chip volume production around Q3 2028, which he believes will become the most valuable building in the world, with economic value placing it among the top 20 countries.
$META CEO Mark Zuckerberg says Muse has more than 10 million users in the US and Canada despite not yet launching globally due to compute intensity constraints, meaning uptake would likely be significantly larger with broader rollout. He aims to build enough compute to eventually serve a billion-plus people if certain efficiency targets are met, with Muse Spark currently the free tier default and Muse Wonder available in paid tier while they work on a more efficient version for broader rollout.
On enterprise, near-term offerings center on the model API, Muse Code, and Meta Business Agents, with a longer-term vision of a broader Muse network where agents help run small businesses, work within corporate environments, and let people interact directly with businesses’ agents rather than navigating to websites.
$TXN CEO Haviv Ilan says demand broadened across industrial, automotive, and data center markets, strong across the board in markets, sectors, and regions, putting some pressure on lead times which ticked up slightly. He believes TI remains the most competitive supplier in terms of lead time and best positioned to support growing demand, with investments in inventory and capacity continuing to ramp factories to support revenue growth moving forward.
$URI Earnings:
- Total revenue of $4.893 billion, including rental revenue of $4.316 billion.
- Net income of $920 million, at a margin of 18.8%. GAAP diluted earnings per share (“EPS”) of $14.77, and adjusted EPS of $15.55.
Matthew Flannery, chief executive officer of United Rentals, said, “I’m very pleased with our third-quarter results, which are a testament to our strategy, our team’s dedication to our customers, and the unmatched breadth and scale of our premier offering. We continued to lean into growth across both our general rentals and specialty businesses with the momentum from the first half of the year carrying through the quarter.”
Flannery continued, “As we look ahead, we believe we are uniquely positioned to outperform the industry through our broad footprint, unmatched one-stop-shop offering, exceptional levels of service, leading technology and unwavering commitment to safety. Our raised guidance reflects this, and is supported by our customers’ confidence, their backlogs, and the momentum we see across large projects. I am very proud of the company we continue to build, underpinned by a well-proven strategy of supporting our customers while also driving profitable growth and strong through-cycle free cash flow generation. Combined with prudent capital allocation, this will continue to deliver compelling long-term value for our shareholders.”
