This week's installment of @MorningAnswer's "In-depth History" with Frank the History Teacher from Arlington Heights, who is recommended by 4 out of 5 dentists (read and you'll get it), tackles the DSA...because there's nothing new in this world, it's just the history you don't know and Frank does. +++ Aquafresh Good Morning! One life lesson I always tell me students is to floss daily. I usually go through the various problems they may face later like Crowns and Root Canals. But then I also talk about how not doing so leads to bad breath. I sometimes even show the old George Kennedy Breath Assure Commercial to get my point across. But when Going to Church in Medieval Times bad breath, well, would have been the least of your worries. Churchgoers generally had to stand the whole time – there were no pews, except for the wealthy. And they would have all smelled just AWFUL! In an age of no deodorant, toilet paper, soap, or running water, one can only imagine the stench. It’s actually why they burned so much frankincense and myrrh in Medieval Churches. One just had to go too, as the ruling Cosmology of the Age insisted that the Afterlife was paramount, so not following the rules would mean more time in Purgatory at least. For the more recalcitrant ones though, Excommunication was a punishment that would deny you the Sacraments if you persisted in your wayward behaviors. Anathematization though, is another punishment altogether. Usually reserved for heretics, it involved a Papal ceremony and the sinner being completely separated from the faith community. In the Middle Ages, sometimes even animals were Anathematized. Secular courts often held full trials with defense attorneys for the accused fauna. The most common defendants were pigs who killed children. Ecclesiastical courts though, would also try rodents, pests and insects, especially those who ruined crops. One famous case in St Julien, France in 1587 was over the failure of a wine crop. The insects’ defense attorney argued the Bible said they were here before man, so they had rights to eat this crop. But the court decided they should be anathematized and were restricted to a specific nearby field. Not sure if the bugs complied. This sounds crazy. But really no more so than today’s Bolshevik Democratic Party and anything it spits out. But a form of Anathema might improve our world today, and it involves kicking out of the Republican party the turncoats who either support or work for that bad Oliver Platt impersonator down in Springfield.

Before you cast your vote, check your state’s rules on what you can wear to the polls! 🇺🇸 More than 20 states restrict political apparel at polling places, including candidate T-shirts, hats, buttons and stickers supporting or opposing a candidate. #ElectionDay #Voting #Election2026

Democrat Mafia areas do not have elections; they have updates on how many of your fellow citizens have joined the mafia. If you live in a Democrat-controlled area, you live in a ghetto. Order your bottle of Virogo at MyVirogo.com and use promo code SHAUN for 30% off.

Some of the players who were involved in the election theft of Biden in 2020 are very active again in these Mafia-run areas. But in important areas like Alaska, they're a little nervous. Order your bottle of Virogo at MyVirogo.com and use promo code SHAUN for 30% off.

🚨 BREAKING: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announces a major investigation into potential links between Minnesota fraud proceeds and Somali terror group Al-Shabaab. “Taxpayer dollars [should] go to the American people, not terror groups like Al-Shabaab.” FinCEN is tracking overseas transfers of $3,000 or more through banks and money transmitters in Hennepin and Ramsey counties as federal investigators pursue Minnesota’s massive fraud scandal.

The Illinois GOP never wants to have the debate about why the party is a failure. The time to have the debate is now.

A week away from the election, @DanProft things the Illinois GOP could learn from legendary coach John Wooden. Stop defining the party by our opponents. Time to start developing talent and executing well, trusting that strong fundamentals matter more than scouting the competition.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries raised concerns about alleged voter suppression, fueling renewed debate over election access and voting rules across the country. As discussions intensify, voter roll maintenance, voter ID laws, and partisan claims about election integrity remain at the center of the national conversation. The debate highlights ongoing tensions between ensuring secure elections and protecting every eligible citizen’s right to vote.

Excellent evening at @JeanneIves's Breakthrough Ideas gala in Glen Ellyn over the weekend. As is always the case on @MorningAnswer, I enjoyed an illuminating chat with @GordonGChang on the domestic and geopolitical threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party and what America should be doing and not doing about them. On the not doing front, we should not be supporting a governor of Illinois named Pritzker spending $500M of Illinois taxpayers' cash to subsidize a ChiCom EV battery plant in Manteno.

I'm in Georgia this morning. Gas prices are $3.65 per gallon on average, per AAA. In Illinois, a gallon today costs $4.89. Nearly $1.25 per gallon more expensive for Illinoisans. One big reason? Gasoline taxes. While @GovPritzker has been hiking gas taxes since 2019, now the 2nd- or 3rd-highest in the country, Georgia has kept them low. And Gov. Kemp has even suspended the 33 cent motor fuel tax for now. Policies matter. Illinoisans need relief. Via @Fight4Illinois #twill
