Introducing MonoMove: the rebuilt @Aptos execution engine and the largest performance upgrade since mainnet.
Markets onchain need scale and safety. MonoMove is built for both.
The Move code behind every order, loan, and payout executes up to 55x faster. Parallelism is not even switched on yet.
The cryptography behind Encrypted Mempool on @Aptos:
Batched threshold encryption lets validators decrypt a full block with constant-size communication per validator, regardless of how many encrypted transactions it holds.
How we built it 👇
Encrypted while pending. Onchain once final.
Encrypted Mempool lets users opt in to encrypt a transaction's details until its block is finalized, designed to lower the risk of MEV attacks.
Encrypted Mempool transactions incur an additional gas fee. Available via @PetraWallet and on @DecibelTrade. How it works:
aptosnetwork.com/currents/en…
When a workload moves to new compute, the data setup often has to move with it: another full copy to sync, permission, version, and expose through a new endpoint.
@shelbyserves, coordinated on @Aptos, takes a different path: workloads reach the same data through the same S3-compatible interface across supported Shelby locations.
Moving compute is often the easy part. The overhead starts when the data setup has to move with it.
Every new copy, endpoint and sync process adds cost before the workload can even start.
Shelby keeps workloads connected to the same data across supported locations, helping more of the compute you pay for stay productive.
Confidentiality on Aptos comes in three layers. All three are live on mainnet, and all three are opt-in.
On a public blockchain, a lot is visible by default: balances, transfer amounts, and the details of pending transactions. Each layer gives users a choice over what they share.
‣ Identity: Keyless Accounts
Keyless Accounts let people create and manage blockchain accounts with credentials like Google or Apple, without publicly tying that identity to an onchain address.
‣ Amounts: Confidential $APT
Confidential APT allows users and institutions to encrypt balances and transfer amounts. Validators verify a transaction is valid while the amounts stay confidential. Addresses remain visible, keeping a clear pathway to accountability and compliant use cases.
‣ Intent: Encrypted Mempool
Encrypted Mempool lets users opt in to encrypt a transaction's details until its block is finalized, designed to lower the risk of MEV attacks. Sender and gas fee stay visible.
What each layer makes possible:
• Keyless Accounts: getting started with a login people already have
• Confidential APT: payments where amounts stay between sender and receiver
• Encrypted Mempool: institutions can place large orders without signaling intent before execution, traders can encrypt the orders they choose, and AI agents' trade inputs stay encrypted until execution
Confidential APT is available in @PetraWallet and on Confidential Assets Web by @AptosLabs. Encrypted Mempool is available via Petra and on @DecibelTrade.

I'm proud of the engineering team at @AptosLabs and their strong commitment to making security a foundational part of our infrastructure.
From day one, we've invested heavily in strengthening MoveVM, improving how code is executed and verified, and building safeguards that protect the network as it grows. As an additional layer of protection, @Aptos employs defense-in-depth independent validation through the VM's runtime checks, ensuring that inconsistent execution states are detected even if they made it past an earlier verification check. Much of this work happens behind the scenes (as it should), but it's critical to building financial infrastructure that people and institutions can trust.
The Move programming language was designed with security at its core, with built-in protections that help developers prevent entire classes of vulnerabilities. We believe it’s one of the most secure foundations for building onchain, and we’re constantly investing in making it even stronger. Our team’s work on defense-in-depth runtime verification has also been published in peer-reviewed research, reflecting our long-standing commitment to advancing security across the broader Move ecosystem: arxiv.org/abs/2606.18064
The recent incident involving Initia is a reminder of why that investment matters. Our team has reviewed the exploit and confirmed that Aptos mainnet is not susceptible under its current MoveVM design. Initia uses an independently maintained implementation of MoveVM that also differs with respect to its integration. For example, since launch, Aptos has disallowed a single transaction from both publishing a module and then executing a script against that module, blocking a key step in the exploit. Aptos also enables additional runtime safety checks, which provide another layer of protection.
MoveVM was designed with security at its core, and we've continued building on that foundation. Security requires constant attention, investment, and improvement, and I'm proud of the team that shows up every day to do that work.
Wishing the @Initia team the best as they work through this incident. We remain ready to provide support if needed!
New equity perp markets are live on @DecibelTrade, part of the 80+ now available across perps and spot.

Confidentiality on @Aptos now spans three opt-in layers, all live on mainnet. Each targets a different part of what's visible onchain, and each opens up something new for builders.
Identity: Keyless Accounts
• Users create and manage Aptos accounts with existing credentials like Google or Apple, verified with zero-knowledge proofs, without publicly tying that identity to an onchain address.
• What it enables: apps that onboard users with a login they already have.
Amounts: Confidential APT
• Users can encrypt balances and transfer amounts. Validators check a zero-knowledge proof that a transfer is valid, while balances and amounts stay confidential. Senders and recipients remain visible onchain.
• What it enables: payments where amounts remain between the sender and the receiver, designed for compliant use cases.
Intent: Encrypted Mempool
• The payload (function called + arguments) is encrypted client-side, ordered while encrypted, and decrypted by validators together only after the block is finalized. Sender and gas fee stay visible.
• What it enables: traders can encrypt the orders they choose, designed to lower MEV risk on those orders, and agents can submit trades with inputs encrypted until execution.
Opt-in by design, built for compliant use.
Confidential APT is available in @PetraWallet and on Confidential Assets Web. Encrypted Mempool is supported in Petra and on @DecibelTrade, and developers can integrate it with the TypeScript SDK (v7.0.0+). Existing Move contracts need no changes.

A journey starts as video. At scale, it becomes spatial intelligence.
@PathPulse_AI is building a real-time picture of road conditions, movement and safety from video captured across the physical world. As that footprint grows, the data layer behind it has to keep up.
As the PathPulse team puts it:
“To map the world in real time, you need a powerful foundation. Shelby has been an amazing partner for PathPulse.ai, giving us the reliable, global network we need to stream live road insights and keep our drivers moving safely.”
The infrastructure behind spatial intelligence matters as much as the intelligence itself.
Agent Mode is opening in early access on @DecibelTrade, built on @Aptos and incubated by Aptos Labs.
Traders ask in plain language about what's moving and why, and Agent Mode builds the order ticket. The trader reviews and confirms every order before it goes through.
Agent Mode for traders, MCP for their agents, on the same onchain order book.

Front-Running Protection: ON.
Your order shouldn't become someone else's signal.
Order details stay encrypted while pending. Once confirmed, the resulting trade remains verifiable onchain.
Encrypted before. Verifiable after.
Now live on Decibel.
In March, the SEC concluded APT is a digital commodity, not a security.
Aptos Labs joined @hedera, @AvaLabs, @StellarOrg, @Cardano_CF, and @chainlink in a joint comment letter to @SECGov on proposed Regulation Crypto Assets, asking it to codify that in the rule text.
We're grateful for the SEC's work to bring clarity to builders, from its March interpretation to proposed Regulation Crypto Assets.
This comment letter is part of Aptos Labs' ongoing work with policymakers globally to support @Aptos.

Encrypted Mempool is now supported on @DecibelTrade, built on @Aptos and incubated by Aptos Labs.
When a trader opts in, the order's payload is encrypted client-side, ordered while encrypted, and decrypted by validators together only after the block is finalized. Sender and gas fee stay visible.
Opt-in, one transaction at a time, and designed to lower MEV risk on the orders traders choose to encrypt.
