Nick Saban says he brought coaches’ wives to job interviews because coaching demands family support while taking time away from home
“I always brought the coach’s wives when I interviewed somebody ’cause I really wanted to see how interested was the spouse.”
“And because coaching is not family-friendly. Your family has to be sort of committed to the time that you have to spend, the work ethic and things that go into the relationships that you have to build outside of your family which sometimes steal away your time from your family.”
“So, if that kind of support is not there, that makes it much more difficult for someone to do their job.”
