So here's an update from me:
Last summer, I stepped down as Review Geek's EIC. Since then, I've started freelance writing several places, but just to pay some bills.
The thing I've really been working on... is a YouTube channel:

@TeamYouTube I got an email to apply for YouTube Channel Memberships Bootcamp by September 7, 2026, but when I click the apply link I get an error. It looks like the form is switching over to my default google account and not the brand account associated to the channel. Help!
Well... I was gonna order one of these, take it to CES and do a review about it after. But they sold out in five seconds flat. Got it in the cart... sold out by the time I got to checkout. Oh well.
Wow so Ars Technica is hiring. I love and adore what I've built on YouTube. But when I originally started writing for a living it was with a dream of someday writing for Ars. Hm.
Picked up a taco kit at @meijer yesterday and made it today. It tasted like poison. Checked the box and it’s expired by over a year. What the heck Meijer?

I adore this lock. But they're doing something that's illegal in the US (just ask @iFixit ). I've sadly probably burned this relationship by calling it out so heavily. But it's the right thing to do.
"Yes, the warranty stickers will be present on Lockly Visage units sold in the US. These stickers help ensure that any servicing or repairs are carried out properly to maintain the integrity and security of the device." (1 of 2)
It was rather shocking, considering not only did Noveto make a giant splash at CES, but it took in $227,000 on kickstarter in pre-orders for an earlier version of the hardware. Yet despite that success, the company bankrupt not long after CES.
In today's video, I get into the history of Noveto, why its award-winning product never released.... and I go hands on with a Noveto Soundbeamer. That's right, I managed to acquire the Kickstarter version. Let's see if it lives up to the hype.

During my first ever CES, I encountered a new product that completely blew me away, the Noveto's "invisible headphones." And I wasn't alone. It won several "best of CES" awards. But then the company disappeared, and never released the product. I thought I'd never hear it again.
This is the longest video I’ve ever published, but for getting our car things working again, it’s worth it.

Anyone tried to use a @FrameworkPuter for video editing when traveling? Curious about both the 13 and 16. Wondering how far Core Ultra processors have come, or if the 16 is good now. I'd just buy a MacBook pro for M series processors ...but I like the idea of repairability.
New video! It's Christmas time, let's look at some Christmas lights!

I have to admit, ever since someone pointed out the colors I chose made this project look like an etch-a-sketch I can't not see it. But this was fun and you can make one too! I included the STL for free.
