Hakstol praised ASU’s effort in its first NCHC weekend. No. 4 Denver, the defending national champion, will provide a significant uptick in opponent quality at home this weekend. Here is how Hakstol views his team’s readiness and the task ahead:

Mikey Keene (knee) and Tana Alo-Tupuola (concussion) were listed as probable by ASU after they didn’t play last week. Wade Helton listed as questionable. Lyrik Rawls is likely out for the season.

ASU has its first commitment of the Dave Hakstol era in 2009-born defenseman Peter Green.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Toronto native is playing his second year with the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads. NHL Central Scouting projects him as a 6-7th round pick in the 2027 Draft.
Lyrik Rawls is unlikely to play again this season, Kenny Dillingham said. He’s dealing with a second injury now. His college career may be over, barring an NCAA rule change or successful lawsuit.

FINAL
ASU 75
ETSU 65
Randy Bennett is 1-0 as ASU's head coach. ETSU was picked to finish second in the Southern Conference (low major). Murauskas had 21 points and 9 rebounds ( 0-for-5 from 3). It was a six-point game with several minutes left. Much to improve upon.
Murauskas avoided what would have been his fifth foul on a good defensive play and then scored an And-1 to put ASU up 10 points with 1:58 left.
