For the first time ever, the most famous American in the world is not the president or a Hollywood icon or tech billionaire—it’s the Pope.
This is more than a Catholic triumph; it’s a cultural watershed for the United States.
In a society that often equates American influence with might or money or celebrity, now our foremost representative on the global stage is a humble man in a white cassock, preaching love, justice, and mercy.

“The State Department will issue visas to Flavio Bolsanaro and his family and allow them entry into the United States," a senior State Department official confirms to @jmhansler.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV declared on Tuesday that “there is no such thing as a holy war,” in a video message to religious leaders gathered in Assisi a week before the American midterm elections.
The pope has clashed with the White House over the Iran war, which JD Vance and Speaker Mike Johnson have tried to defend with Catholic just war doctrine.
On Palm Sunday, Leo said God “does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them.” thelettersfromleo.com/p/ther…
“We must rebuild peace everywhere, not prepare for more wars. War can never be waged in the name of God. For us believers, ‘to fight in the name of religion means attacking religion itself.’ There is no such thing as a holy war: only peace is holy.” — Pope Leo XIV
Forgive him for not knowing it was the 250th anniversary.
He spent July 4 in London with one of his mistresses.

Eight days until the midterms, and it's been weeks since a republican mentioned anything except trans people, mental hospital hoaxes, or Cheesecake Factory. Messaging this horrendous must be studied.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV’s new bishop overseeing Trump’s Mar-a-lago estate speaks out in light of the controversy regarding twelve bishops having a public prayer photo-op with the president.
I wish to remind all the faithful of the Diocese of Palm Beach that the Catholic Church does not endorse or support any political candidate or political party.
The Catholic Church remains a nonpartisan community of faith, whose sacred mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in full communion with our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, and the College of Bishops.
While the Church upholds its responsibility to proclaim moral principles and promote the dignity of every human person, it does not engage in partisan political activity.
Any action or statement by a member of the Church that may be perceived as an endorsement of a political candidate or party must not be construed as representing the official position of the Catholic Church or the Diocese of Palm Beach.
Such actions, when undertaken in the name of the Church, even in the form of “prayers” or “blessings”, are contrary to its nonpartisan mission and should be regarded solely as expressions of individual political preference.
The dam has broken. Bishop Rodríguez, whom Pope Leo XIV sent to Palm Beach after years serving immigrants in Queens, put the word “prayers” in quotation marks, and Kansas City’s archbishop disowned his predecessor’s Oval Office visit. Sources in Rome tell me the Vatican wants more American bishops to follow. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…
NEW: The Catholic bishop whose diocese includes Mar-a-Lago said on Monday that the church “does not endorse or support any political candidate or political party,” four days after a dozen bishops laid hands on President Trump in the Oval Office.
Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez, whom Pope Leo XIV appointed last year after he spent years ministering to immigrants in Queens, did not name the bishops, but he put the word “prayers” in quotation marks.
In Kansas City, Kan., Archbishop Shawn McKnight also distanced his archdiocese from his predecessor’s visit, as Vatican officials signal they want more American bishops to follow. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…
The very essence of Donald Trump is missing “brokenness” — starting inside himself.
For about three minutes, President Trump fired back at Obama over Cheesecake Factory jab:
"It’s not about money. It’s about seeing. Guys like Obama don’t see it. You don’t see dirt. He doesn’t see filth. He doesn’t see broken ornaments on a building"..
"We have to explain that to Obama because he doesn't understand it because he's not a smart guy"..
"And for you to say it’s a cheesecake factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president back then."
In terms of pure politics, Trump’s Iran War is arguably more costly than Bush’s Iraq War.

This is what putting South Carolina first looks like.
I’m honored to have the support of two former governors — Republican David Beasley and Democrat Jim Hodges.
We may not agree on everything, but we share a belief that matters most: South Carolina deserves leaders who will always put its people first.
He won each of these states by double digits in 2024. They’re playing defense in the final week.
NEW: Bishop William Joensen of Des Moines said the White House used a private prayer with President Trump “for partisan political purposes,” the second prelate to express regret over the Oval Office gathering days before the midterm election.
Milwaukee Archbishop Jeffrey Grob apologized on Sunday, saying that “something so sacred” had been manipulated. “I did not go without reservations,” he wrote. “I wish I had heeded them.”
Pressure is building on the remaining 10 bishops to walk back their participation, and more than 2,500 Catholics have signed a letter asking them to apologize to the people of God and to Pope Leo XIV. thelettersfromleo.com/p/des-…
