Perfectly legal things you can do to get more customers before touching ads:
- ask customers for referrals
- follow up with leads who went cold
- partner with businesses that serve your customers
- call back old customers and pitch them something new
- downsell your leads that couldn’t afford your main offer
You need to be realistic is one of the worst lines in the human language.
You need to be delusional.
You need to be relentless.
No one ever built anything big by being realistic.
Adam was an incredible guy and a friend. There are so many sick unhappy people on the internet. He was a great human. Hold your loved ones close, be kind, life is short. Rest in peace.
The more money you have, the more you push back on the world. The less money you have, the more the world pushes back on you.
It’s always been this way.
The difference between a $1M business and a $100M business:
How you delegate... The 6D Execution Brief...
I heard this line today: "Not a single scar on my heart came from my enemies. They all came from people I thought loved me”
Feels true.
You don’t need to be liked, but you do need to be respected.
Nothing kills your authority faster as a leader than losing it.
When things are falling apart your team should know you'll stay calm, work harder and longer than they will, and do it with a smile on.
Sam Altman's coach @FU_joehudson says work ethic is overrated (& what makes his billionaire clients successful instead):
Call a rich man broke and he’ll laugh.
Call a strong man weak and he’ll laugh.
Call a genius dumb and he’ll laugh.
Their hate doesn’t need to offend you, don’t defend against idiocy.
You can either lose in business and make it your identity... or you can make it the reason you eventually win. @hubermanlab
Harsh truth…If you're a parent, stop telling your kid to "get a good job."
That advice was built for a world that's gone. Guarantees are gone. Colleges are a $100K bet on someone else hiring you.
On one hand high performers and competent people are so rare. On the other hand mid performers are becoming unnecessary with AI.
You are a force multiplier or in the way.
So teach them to excel or own.
Teach them how money actually works. Revenue, margin, cash flow. Most adults can't read a P&L. Make your 16 year old.
Teach them to sell. Lemonade, lawn mowing, flipping sneakers, a Roblox game. Doesn't matter. The skill is asking someone for money and getting a yes.
Teach them that the boring businesses pay. Rich people own things.
Teach them AI isn't the thing that takes their job. But it does let a winner run what used to take a team of 10.
A kid with agency and a laptop will beat a grad waiting for permission.
Nobody is coming to hand your kids a life. Hand them the tools to build one.
Don't raise employees. Raise owners. Raise winners or this will be their future.
what if you imagined it all working out? Instead of it all falling apart... isn't that a better use of your imagination?
Reminder... no one ever got rich by playing it safe.
Elon Musk had to borrow money from friends to keep Tesla alive in 2008.
Walt Disney borrowed against his own life insurance policy to help fund Disneyland.
Daymond John mortgaged his mom's house to fund FUBU.
Sara Blakely put her entire savings into Spanx.
