What a turnout today for the SOS Daisy Hill Rally in Newry 👏🏻
The Sinn Féin team in Newry and Armagh and South Down have been consistent and working hard on this issue.
Maternity services must be retained at Daisy Hill Hospital.
The Trust, the Department of Health and the minister must explore all options to retain these essential, life-saving services
Sinn Féin is standing up for local mothers, babies and maternity staff. Let’s keep Daisy Hill delivering!

The message is clear: let’s keep Daisy Hill delivering!
Huge numbers turned out today from across Newry, South Armagh & South Down to send a very clear message to the Trust, the Health Minister & the Department.
Our maternity service is fantastic - it must be retained.
Local mothers & babies deserve nothing less!

The fear and trauma being inflicted on the Garvaghy Road community is wrong. Residents have the right to live free from sectarian harassment.
28 years of peace must be protected.

Today, Sinn Féin met with the British government and challenged them directly on their continued underfunding for people and communities here.
The British government is making a disgraceful political choice to restrict funding for public services here, funding them to a much lower level than in Scotland and Wales.
This is the same British government that just recently committed billions extra of taxpayers’ money for weapons of war.
Once again, it shows Westminster’s absolute disregard for the needs of our people and communities.

The vicious knife attack in north Belfast was an appalling act, and the thoughts of everyone are with the victim. Those who acted with courage and selflessness to save a life deserve enormous credit, and the perpetrator must face the full weight of the law.
But there can be no justification for the racist violence that followed. Masked loyalist gangs going into communities and burning families out of their homes is nothing short of racist thuggery. It must be called out for what it is.
Leadership means rejecting fear and division, challenging the poisonous narratives that fuel hatred, and standing together against racism in all its forms.
