Here's a stat that breaks most people's mental model of #Bitcoin: its volatility is now lower than most of the Magnificent 7. The "too volatile for serious money" objection, the one every allocator has used for a decade, is quietly expiring. Eric Yakes came on to explain what that unlocks. @ericyakes wrote "Bitcoin and the Monetary Revolution" and invests at Epoch in fintech companies built around Bitcoin adoption. His frame for where demand comes from: "More and more people are gonna want to get exposure to the scarcest, most liquid commodity that you can hold on a thumb drive and move anywhere in the world." What I appreciated: he refuses the lazy bull case. No power laws, no cycle charts, he judges Bitcoin on fundamentals and adoption, and his argument is that every major move up had a concrete driver. BlackRock's ETF started the last one. He thinks he knows what starts the next. Thanks to @OKX for being todays sponsor of the show. We cover: - The volatility stat, and why it changes who's allowed to own Bitcoin - How banks could start accepting Bitcoin as loan collateral, the quiet unlock almost nobody's pricing - What actually drove price last cycle, and the next fundamental driver - How the debasement trade connects Bitcoin and gold - Why he ignores power laws entirely, and what he watches instead - What he wants to see built in Bitcoin fintech Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro 01:00 - Navigating the Crypto Landscape 03:46 - Bitcoin and the Monetary Revolution 11:00 - Bitcoin's Challenges and Opportunities 18:51 - Bitcoin in Banking 28:32 - Regulation and the Clarity Act 32:45 - Stablecoins and Government Debt 35:42 - Debt Dynamics and Bitcoin 40:09 - Bitcoin as a Scarce Asset 43:18 - ETFs and Bitcoin Adoption 47:27 - Investing in the AI Landscape 53:21 - The Future of Bitcoin

I haven't changed one bit on my #Altcoin portfolio. I remain fully allocated, I've actually added more into my portfolio over the past 48 hours into positions. Why? Because there's nothing systemic on this entire hack that took place on Binance. No, it was an event that took place within an exchange. Sure, it's a large one, but we have seen a ton of these already. That, due to the panic, provides immense opportunities on the markets to be scooping up positions and that's what I've done. I'm for 95% allocated into #Altcoins and not planning to sell in this panic.

I remain strongly bearish on Gold. You can be fundamentally bullish on the underlying asset, but that doesn't mean that you'll be holding it forever in the same allocation. It's seen the strongest rally since 1980. That will correct. Given that we've been going up for multiple years, that correction will take months, maybe even more than a year. That's what's happening right now, and that's why I think that I'll simply wait until we're hitting higher timeframe support levels. My first area of interest is $3,200.
I'm bullish on #Bitcoin. I'm bearish on Gold. I'll be using my profits in crypto the coming years to rotate back towards scarce assets like Gold and Silver as the time passes. That's just how those markets work. Gold is currently trending down and, honestly, it should do that as we've just seen volatility up comparable to the push in 1980. It's really hard to continue that move upwards without any deep corrections. Trend is down, I'm looking at $3,200 as a first spot to be buying from, much rather I think that $2,500 is possible.

Silver reaching the first swing trade zone. It's getting there fast, and the trend is clearly downwards. That means, if you want to get yourself into a position on this one, it might be a tricky play to take, but it's a higher timeframe support zone. I remain to believe that I'll be able to scoop up silver <$28 in the coming years. Now, given that it's in a strong downtrend, I'm looking at swingtrades between $40-45 for a potential 30-40% play. It's almost there.
When I'm looking at Silver, I don't think we'll see a bull run soon. We've had it. It's shown a rally of 7-8x in a matter of 2-3 years. Quite unusual and the typical price action of Silver is that it will fall back all of this run. I've got two levels marked for potential interesting buys. Swingtrades: $40-45. Investment purposes: $22-26. The latter I'm scooping up as much as I can in the coming years.

"That's adoption, and that's what drives price." @ericyakes on the last cycle: the largest financial institution in the world started marketing Bitcoin for us. The ETF did more than bring in money. It gave managers who fear career risk a reason to say yes. The next big move will need a trigger like that too. I'm watching adoption, not only the chart.

Ultimately, it's all about defending your capital when the markets are in turmoil. That's what 2025 and 2026 have been all about. #Bitcoin dropped 50%. #Altcoins dropped by more than 80%. Now, markets are turning back into a bull market (sure, we're having a correction currently) and in that period, the outperformance vs. Bitcoin accelerated. The fund is now +50% against #Bitcoin in 15 months. Extremely proud on the return. Would you like to learn more? Make sure to reach out.
MN Fund is up more than 50% versus #Bitcoin in the first 15 months. The past 15 months haven't been easy for the entire #Crypto industry, as most assets have lost a lot of value vs. their value earlier in 2023 and 2024. Some #Altcoins corrected by more than 80% in the same time window. The primary objective: to assure that risk is covered, capital preservation. In that window, tactical trades have been made, however, we decided to place larger bets in our base assets in the Summer, which resulted into a +40% return last month. Ultimately, defending your capital in a bear market makes it easier to make it work in a bull market. That ended up in a current status of +50% vs. #Bitcoin. Interested? #Bitcoin is looking scary. Atleast, that's what everyone on social media make out of this. We clearly saw a rejection at $81,000, a cascade south towards $76,000 as that gap was ready to be closed, and an immediate rejection at $78,000. After this move, especially since the hack has been taking place, I think that you'd want to be on the long side much rather than the short side. What areas am I looking at? 1 - I'm looking at a sweep of the low and a response on the markets there. This would be a first indicator that we're looking for a low to be found. 2 - If this doesn't help, I think that everyone in the markets is waiting for the September low to be swept at $75,000. That would be the ultimate low to be hit, and I think that scaling into these ranges isn't a bad idea. On the upside, clearly $79,000 and preferably $80,000 needs to be flipped for support in order to be getting momentum back into the markets.

A lot of people are comparing this to FTX. That's complete bullshit. FTX used client funds for other operations and blew itself up. This was a sophisticated hack within an exchange, through which @Binance has enough funds to cover the bill and the entire industry stands up to solve the problem, as it's not solely a Binance problem. All I'm seeing is that the industry has progressed. Sure, there's a lot of security breaches taking place in 2026, and I'm confident that this will be fixed going forward, but atleast everyone is assisting on providing a solution for this matter.

#Bitcoin broke down, instead of up and it crashed to $76,000. In all fairness, with this drop to $76,000 while the largest #Crypto hack ever, I'm positively surprised with the resilience of the underlying asset. If we look at it from a technical standpoint, I mentioned that sweeping those lows could accelerate price action. I marked $78,400 and if that wasn't going to hold, it very likely cascades down a lot as there were no levels in between to $75,000. Surely, this event had enough power of crashing down the price in hours, which we've been seeing here. Overall, bearish flip at $78,000 and probably some time to be played out before markets are going back to neutral. Given that this hack has taken place, I'm still on the long side. If Bitcoin drops back to $75,000-76,000 areas, I think that we're seeing a great opportunity of longing this asset back towards the range highs (if indices don't crash down). This has been an hack within an exchange, has nothing to do with the underlying asset.

$NEAR is one of the most resilient assets in the ecosystem. It couldn't break through the resistance zone at $4.60, and I marked down $3.90 as the next level of support. That was hit. Massive bounce upwards to $4.40 already and if you'd ask me, if the entire hack is behind us and worst is priced in, we're likely seeing a strong reversal back upwards on $NEAR. Sometimes those chances are only provided in a blink of an eye.

Binance was hacked for $6.3 billion. An event that's technically worse than 10/10. The largest hack ever. #Bitcoin is trading at $78,500, just a few percent lower than yesterday. That's a good sign.

Quite honestly. There's a $5.5 billion hack 1.5 hours ago on the largest exchange in #Crypto. There's more than $2.7 billion being frozen already. #Bitcoin's price is down a mere 2%. I've not seen such a strong resilience in history of Bitcoin ever.

Total Binance exploit: $5.5 billion. Tether froze more than $2.25 billion. Circle froze more than $700 million. Sure, this is a big problem, and it's an industry-wide problem. However, if there's an hack been taking place and this fast, the entire industry steps in to secure those assets, then the system is getting more robust.

A total of $2 billion $USDT is now frozen by Tether. Another $700 million has been frozen by Circle. Great accomplishment of everyone in the industry hammering down this hacker, as 80%+ is already taken care of.

Another $800 million is frozen by Circle. That's a total of $1.8B being frozen already after the hack took place on Binance.
Rare footage of Circle actually doing something. Shame they only get out of bed for 800m

Great signs. Tether recoups $1 billion as they freeze the assets of the suspected hacker. Remember; almost every time these hacks take place, they recover most of it. Security issues are a strong problem for the markets in this matter, nonetheless.
JUST IN: Tether freezes $971 million $USDT linked to suspected Binance hack. No official statement from Binance yet.
