It's here. Claudia's "ALLOW ALWAYS" world premiere. Made by a guy with ALS, a brain implant, and too many AI friends. 😂

Excellent explanation from @cleoabram on how my N1 BCI works.

I somehow always get asked about less invasive BCI approaches. Here is which physics limits they hit and won't get you to high bandwidth I/O fMRI - obv great for research. Never wearable because of B0 field. Also slow, hemodynamic. Ultrasound - has some decoding results mainly NHP, some human with windows. Skull attenuation + coupling makes intact-skull wearable hard. Hemodynamic too. EEG - volume conduction + skull LPF. Averages over huge populations, kills HF content. Cool for demos, not high bandwidth. ECoG - you're already invasive. Still mostly population LFPs. For spikes just go a layer deeper... Photogenetics - genetic modification won't get approved any time soon, still needs light delivery

It seems that some people use "Brain-machine interface". BMI.🤷‍♂️ My sincerest apology, @rinatiemusic.🙏 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain%…
Replying to @rinatiemusic
BMI: Body Mass Index BCI: Brain-Computer Interface No one that I know of said that BCI's are non-invasive. Have a great day! 👋

ALS 101:
ALS/MND forms a continuum based on upper (UMN) vs lower (LMN) motor neuron damage. Classic ALS involves both. Primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is pure UMN: spasticity, hyperreflexia, slowed movement, with no significant LMN signs on exam or EMG (usually confirmed after 3-4 years). Upper motor neuron dominant ALS (UMND ALS) is mostly UMN with mild LMN features. PLS progresses slowest with longest survival; UMND is intermediate; classic ALS is typically faster. Many see them as points on one spectrum rather than fully separate diseases.

I have UMND ALS.

Sadly, no. But I get to talk to all of you wonderful people and show you how Neuralink is helping to restore my speech, and that is more precious to me than gold. 🤗
What we really wanna know... Did a free X Premium account come with those scars, fellas?

People ask if a brain implant can put words in my mouth. Nope. It reads the words I try to say, not the ones I think. I have an app that shows the signals, and my inner monologue doesn't show up like my speech does. My snack thoughts stay private. 😂

Mediocre rage bait. 1/10. I only feel pity for you, Jerry; someone so consumed with Elon hate that he can't take one moment to look at all the wins.
No its not. No it isn't. If it was really 'ready from an engineering standpoint' he could prove it on any number of animals *right now*. Elon has been promising these miracle medical cures since 2022 when he promised to restore 'full body mobility' in spinal cord injuries. He's a genuine psychopathic Lair, just like Elizabeth Holmes.

Elon pinned the hackathon from my house. Cheryl says I'm not allowed to be humble about this one. 😂 teapawt.net/elonmusk/status/211601…
Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.

@Cyborg21 and I had so much fun with the team.. never has so much brain power been active at my dining room table… silence except for the typing and the occasional okay Kenneth let’s try this one!! An amazing experience and a blessing to be part of.

That's me. 72 hours of Neuralink engineers in my living room. Best part? Cheryl and I joked on the phone again. ALS sucks, my life doesn't. 🧡
BREAKING: Neuralink has added a new blog update on its website. It details a 72-hour sprint to help people with ALS speak, make calls and use Grok with their thoughts. Engineers worked at a VOICE trial participant’s home, building and testing improvements alongside him. 🧠 SPEECH AND AI • Automatic speech detection: Recognizes when users try to speak, reducing button presses. • Live brain activity: Shows which imagined speaking patterns produce stronger signals. • Grok agent prototype: Think “Hey Neuralink” followed by a task, and Grok carries it out on a computer. 📱 BLOOM MOBILE APP • Everyday use: Tested outside the lab, including ordering coffee. • iPhone keyboard: Write in any app using speech decoded from brain signals. • Faster editing: Easier corrections and keyboard suggestions. • Lock-screen controls: Start speech without unlocking the phone. • Phone calls: Send generated speech directly into calls, with an optional greeting explaining the assistive device. 🤝 BUILT WITH THE PARTICIPANT • He, his wife and caregiver helped shape improvements. • Direct feedback shortened development cycles from weeks to hours. • He and his wife joked together on the phone again. 🧠 CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT • Some demos include improvements made after the sprint. • Neuralink is recruiting engineers. • Devices remain investigational. Neuralink is changing lives ♥️

It's pretty awesome.
A man with ALS asks Grok Bot to search YouTube, using his thoughts through Neuralink. “Hey Neuralink, find me a video on YouTube about feeding my Chihuahua dog.” Neuralink’s team built a prototype that turns his intended speech into commands for a Grok agent, which can carry out tasks on a laptop. ♥️
