– When did you start collecting digital art? Is there any work, collection, or artist that holds particular meaning for you? @James_Glohe ✦ I arrived pretty late. Like a lot of people, my first experience was through NBA Top Shot. Then I drifted into PFP projects because that’s where so much of the conversation was happening at the time. Being Australian, I found myself searching for local projects. I wanted something that felt connected to where I lived rather than another Discord full of people I’d probably never meet. That’s when I came across Konstant Flux and the Flux Tribe. Konstant is a graffiti artist from Western Australia, and because I’d always loved graffiti culture, it immediately clicked. That was really my introduction to Tezos. Not long afterwards I discovered Str4ngeThing, and that’s probably when I realised this wasn’t just about NFTs anymore. His work mixed classical art, hip hop, fashion and pop culture in a way that felt completely different to anything else I was seeing. It felt familiar without copying anything. From there I started paying more attention to individual artists than collections. That’s when collecting became a completely different experience.
