A major step forward for children's protection in Europe. The European Parliament’s LIBE Committee has voted in favour of the recast Child Sexual Abuse Directive, including provisions addressing AI systems designed to enable the production of CSAM. Next: plenary, then implementation.

Europe is deciding the future of the Child Sexual Abuse Regulation. Protecting children online is a political choice. Europe must secure a strong framework to detect, report and remove child sexual abuse material, which upholds privacy and child safety. These decisions are being made in citizens’ names. If you’re an EU citizen, ask your representatives where they stand on protecting children from sexual abuse online in two simple steps. eu1.hubs.ly/H0zzp1c0.

Reporting child sexual abuse imagery is simple, easy and anonymous. The victimisation of a child who has endured sexual abuse doesn’t stop once they have been safeguarded. If images and videos of their abuse have been captured and shared online, they face repeated suffering every time that imagery surfaces. But together, we can prevent this. If you stumble across imagery you suspect may contain child sexual abuse, report it to us at eu1.hubs.ly/H0zvVpF0.

We've found more photorealistic AI-generated child sexual abuse images in the first half of this year, than in the whole of 2025. "I can't even call AI an emerging threat anymore; it is a stabilised threat in this space," says our Head of Hotline Ngaire Alexander. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5n4…

In 2025, we took action against more than 310,000 webpages showing child sexual abuse. 63% of them were traced to hosting services in EU countries. Online services play a central role in finding this material and reporting it. But in the EU, the legal basis that allows messaging and email services to do this voluntarily is temporary. Support strong EU action to replace this temporary arrangement with clear, lasting rules. Write to your MEP today: eu1.hubs.ly/H0zm3_v0.

Summer clothes have officially gone into storage, but some of them won’t be coming back out. @Collection4Clothes can help turn your unwanted clothes into income for the IWF. We place a collection bin at your workplace; your staff or customers fill it with clothes, accessories and shoes they no longer need, and the proceeds come to us - at no cost to your business! The income from these donations helps ensure child sexual abuse images found by our analysts are taken down and supports our work to prevent the prolonged suffering of victims. If your workplace has room, sign up and support our cause at eu1.hubs.ly/H0zbYzQ0.
