An excellent video on how eastern Libya helps arm Hemedti’s Rapid Support Forces, backed by the UAE.
Maybe other reporters have investigated the #Sudan war from eastern-Libyan soil; but I haven’t seen any. To me, this is the first, and it’s admirable work. Watch it on YouTube. @LHreports

New investigation shows how Libya has become a weapons trafficking and training hub for the RSF, who are committing horrific acts in Sudan, with the backing of the UAE.
Extremely important work by @JCSteers @LHreports @sudanwarmonitor and Evident Media.

As the world ignores Sudan’s further descent into horror, our investigation exposes the RSF’s weaponising of hunger and fear; hundreds of men and dozens of children, forced to fight for the same force raping, looting and burning through the country.

“Despite the growing evidence of atrocities — and warnings from aid groups that parts of Sudan are heading toward famine — the international focus on conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine has largely eclipsed the crisis in Sudan.” via @NYTimes nytimes.com/2024/02/24/world…

According to insiders interviewed by Reuters, @ShimelisAbdisa has been personally ordering extra-judicial killings and arrests in Oromia state -- as the head of a secret committee formed by @AbiyAhmedAli as early as 2018.

Great to have had the opp to watch 'Inside Wagner' @frontlineclub on Tues – powerful and delicately handled doc on very tough subject matter.
Reported by @JCSteers, directed by @AGuettatfi, with some excellent DoPs – interesting, dynamic Q&A after, chaired by @ScheckNYTimes.

Good piece by @ajlisteningpost on the lack of coverage of the war in Sudan although it omits probably the single biggest impediment to more international coverage — the govt. refuses to issue visas to journalists. youtu.be/pXc6yYXsUoQ?si=nwue…

The RSF is on the verge of conquering nearly all of Darfur from the Sudanese army, raising fears that more mass atrocities will follow in the days and weeks to come. There is already clear evidence of mass killings.
