Passed the CMT Level 3 exam!!
It's been an amazing journey these last few years and the CMT curriculum is definitely some of the best material on technical analysis out there.
It gave me a much more holistic view of the markets than I had going in. Super excited to be able to apply all of this in my system building and analysis.
Big thank you to the @CMTAssociation and to the wonderful CMT community, which turned out to be the best part of this journey!

it's funny how the richest traders are in most cases the worst traders.
the richest traders don't stay the richest for too long. they eventually blow up.
why? because the richest traders became the richest because of luck and favorable conditions and when the luck runs out and the market turns, they blow up and we all forget about them.
you don't become the richest trader by trading well. you become the richest trader by taking on unnecessary risk.
good trading shouldn't be measured by the money in your account. good trading should be measured by the amount of time that you've managed to stay alive in the markets.

I've always been fascinated by cycles.

this might be a controversial take but i believe that most profitable traders you see on social media are simply lucky because they started trading once their specific system was in a positive trend.
that trend is based on nothing other than pure randomness and it's just a matter of time until it breaks. they will be far too late to respond to that shift.
if you want to be successful in this industry, you need to have a good understanding of randomness and probabilistic thinking.

I loved scalping. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so I thought it fit my personality.
It didn't. It fed my need for action.
More trades than my plan allowed. Bad entries just because price was moving.
What you're drawn to isn't always what you're good at.

A couple of weeks ago I took one trade that told me more about myself than years of backtesting.
It didn't make me rich. But it made me stop scalping.
I made a video about it, and the 3 questions I now use to pick a trading style.

Do we have some type of asymmetrical head and shoulders pattern here on gold on the lower timeframes?
The measured move on this potential pattern lines up nicely with the untested breakout area below

Will be interesting to see how visualization like this can be used to explain complex price action concepts 🤔
The anatomy skill by @wheresryan22 turns out to be a pretty cool way to explain different trading concepts.
