Overbets can be extremely powerful in No Limit Hold'em. Learn when and how to implement them in your strategy with these tips from @PokerCoaching_'s own @JonathanLittle

If you only have 6 hours a week for poker, I'd spend almost all of it studying if you're still a losing player.
Your ROI from improving is far higher than it is from playing poker with a losing strategy.
Everything inside @PokerCoaching_ and @peakgto is FREE through November 5th, including access to my brand-new Complete Cash Game System.

AK is one of the easiest hands to overplay.
Just because you start with the best hand doesn't mean you deserve to win the pot.

Deep-stacked play out of position is all about playability, not blindly defending your range.
AK looks strong, but facing a big bet, it has very few clean ways to improve.
Prioritize hands with better backdoor potential. Don't feel obligated to defend just because you have two overcards. 👇

Answer: Call ✅
Facing a large check-raise, A♦️J♣️ has too much equity to fold. The ace of diamonds gives us backdoor equity to the nuts, as well as immediate equity to the nuts straight. There are plenty of good turn cards, and we're ahead of many of our opponent's draws.
At 50bb deep, the BB's large raise should represent a polarized range. We don't expect to see hands like K-6, which means we should defend primarily with calls.
At shallower stacks, like 25-30bb, the BB can raise more linear hands, including weaker top pairs. In those spots, we can introduce more 3-bets, especially with hands like A-K offsuit and K-J offsuit.
But at 50bb, if we're not 3-betting those hands, we should call with our continuing range.
The key lesson: Against a polarized check-raise deep-stacked, favor calling to preserve equity and keep the SPR high, allowing you to maneuver on turns and rivers.
50bb effective in an MTT.
You open to 2.2bb from the BTN with A♦️J♣️, and BB calls.
Flop: K♣️Q♦️5♦️
BB checks, you bet 1.5bb, and BB check-raises to 8.6bb.
What should you do? 👇
