Amazing how reactionary and *not based on the evidence* so many views on the four day week are from those within government.

If the government really want to fix the NHS and public services, here are some ways to fund it:
ā”ļø Tax fortunes over Ā£10m at 2% (Ā£24bn a year)
ā”ļø Tax income from wealth the same as income from work (Ā£24.2bn/yr)
ā”ļø Close inheritance tax loopholes (Ā£1.4bn/yr)

Crazy stat in UK Housing Review: govt spending on housing is at its highest: £30.5 billion in 2021/22 compared to £22.3 billion in 1975/76, in real terms. In the 70s, 95% was on housebuilding, now it's only 12%. The main reason for this drop? A rise in demand for housing benefit.
Reducing the right-to-buy discounts is an important first step in ending a policy that has decimated council housing across the country.
Social housing must be at the centre of Labour's housing plans.

Your income from work won't be taxed more.
Your income from capital will.
It's a shift in favour of labour.
Why ever would a Labour government do that?

The Tories claimed a minimum wage would cause mass unemployment ā it didnāt.
They demonised trade unions, but unions are the combined power of millions of working people.
I support the Employment Rights Bill and urge us to scrap every anti-union law since Thatcherās government.

Some "modern" views from a member of Parliament's new Modernisation Committee right there...
NEW: Conservative MP Sir Christopher Chope says Kemi Badenoch is āpreoccupied with her childrenā and āyou can't spend all your time with your family at the same time as being leader of the oppositionā.

Adjusted for inflation 60p in 2013 is worth 86p today.
In London you should be able to buy dinner at 10pm, ice cream at midnight and a drink in a bar at 2am.
If you choose to move next to a pub you shouldnāt be allowed to complain about living next to a pub and get it closed down.
Simple.
Now make me the new Night Tsar.
