Aeonium hierrense and Aeonium calderense looking like massive cabbages. These live in the front garden so they'll have a little roof put over them for winter soon #aeonium #succulents

Agave montana with its prominent leaf markings. This is apparently one of the hardier Agave species but I don't think I'll try it outside for winter yet. #agave #succulents

Crassula corallina. I always end up with a million cuttings of this one. #crassula #succulents #SucculentSunday

We had loads of Aeonium tabuliforme seedlings pop up this year after a plant flowered. One of them looks different though (top middle) so I reckon it hybridised with something else. I'm trying to think what other species flowered at the same time. #aeonium #succulents

look how much the Bowiea volubilis bulbs are growing #succulents #bowiea

my mum got 1st prize at the mesemb show last week with her Peter Rabbit garden planted with Delosperma napiforme turnips. #delosperma #mesembs #PeterRabbit #GardenersWorld #succulents

my Lithops garden with donkeys got its picture taken a lot even though it didn't win anything at the mesemb show #lithops #mesembs #GardenersWorld #succulents

I had meant to enter my Sword In The Living Stone garden into the mesemb show but I accidentally left mini King Arthur at home. oops. I thought it might as well sit on the show bench for the day anyway so I gave it a random bird #lithops #mesembs #GardenersWorld #succulents

the donkeys didn't win anything at the mesemb show at the weekend but my Titanopsis and ammonites garden got 3rd #lithops #succulents #mesembs #titanopsis

I found quite an interesting fossil last week. I thought it was just a piece of bivalve shell, then turned it over and realised there was a xenomorph of an ammonite on the other side #FossilFriday #fossils #ammonite

When the flowers die off, this will look exactly like Scarborough beach. Lithops lesliei v. venteri C001, grown from seed, plus donkeys. I'm taking this to the Mesemb Show in Manchester tomorrow. #lithops #succulents #mesembs #GardenersWorld #foliagefriday

It has been a tough year for the gingers. I think this one is Roscoea purpurea 'Cinnamon Stick'. Plus Podophyllum 'Spotty Dotty' leaves. #roscoea #gingers #alpines #podophyllum

my friend has sent me loads of interesting Crassula cuttings #crassula #succulents

The variegated Aeonium 'Voodoo' is now the size of a cabbage #aeonium #succulents

There was a bad smell in the garden yesterday and I was about to blame the bins but then I realised this Arum pictum had started flowering. The flies were loving it #arum #aroids

This Aeonium had self-seeded into one of our other succulent plants so we dug it up this week. I thought it was an Aeonium spathulatum, but now I'm wondering if it's a hybrid with another species. #aeonium #succulents

The Lithops have grown massively in my The Sword In The Living Stone bowl garden. Does King Arthur still fit? #lithops #succulents #mesembs

The double-headed Lithops still flowering in my living stone garden. Lithops lesliei v. venteri C001, grown from seed. #lithops #succulents #mesembs

2 massive Aeonium tabuliforme plants #aeonium #succulents
