Trump boasting about being close to a trade deal with Canada says two things, @Lanampayne tells @CTVNews. βOne, he actually needs a trade deal with Canada, and two, if he doesn't get one, he gets to blame us that he doesn't have such a deal.β
LOL.
Gaslighting.
And preparing for big losses.

Dear @bankofcanada
WTH!
Driving up costs for workers and businesses during a trade war that isn't their fault neither reduces inflation nor deals with energy costs.
It just causes more economic hardship and pain.
Not to mention this is the last thing the Cdn economy needs.
Unbelievable.
Workers already underwater because of this punishing trade war.
Workers and families being hit with high energy costs because of a war in Iran.
And BofC is adding to the economic pain by raising interest rates as if that will change the price of energy. π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
We have increased our interest rate to 2.50%.

National President @LanamPayne presented on Bill C-39 this week to the Senate and the House of Commons, raising the alarm about the Bill's infringement on the right to strike and its predictable knock-on effect of curtailing collective bargaining itself.

It will be more than Detroit.
It defies reason and all common sense why a U.S. President would adopt economic/trade policies that are hurting his own auto and manufacturing industry the most.
The big winner: China. Trump is turning out to be China's best friend.
PUMP the BRAKES!
National President @Lanampayne tells the federal government to pump the brakes on Bill C-39.
Unifor presented to both the Senate and the House of Commons on Oct 26, and shared the union's deep concerns on how the law would seriously curtail workers' rights to strike and bargain collectively.
Easy for them to say. Their job is clearly not dependent on building those heavy duty trucks.
Two Canadian trade sources said that some automakers are urging the federal and Ontario governments to prioritize reaching an agreement instead of a hardline opposition to a higher rate for heavy duty vehicles #cdnpoli #cdnecon ipolitics.ca/2026/10/27/autoβ¦

So we have a trade war caused by Trump.
We have the Iran war caused by Trump.
Both are making it harder for workers and businesses and now the Bank of Canada may pile on by raising interest rates.
This is messed up.

When we fight. We can win.
Letβs keep fighting out there. For workers everywhere.
After a decade of fighting back against Bill 148, Unifor members in Nova Scotia are set to receive damages after the unconstitutional legislation undermined their collective bargaining rights and impacted their wages and benefits.
This is what happens when workers stand together and fight for their rights!
