The apology is noted, but who signed off on this ad? What could have possibly been the purpose other than a wink and a nod at the vilest form of white supremacy?
The entire chain, from concept, design to approval needs public outing and being fired. Enough!

To this Sox fan, it sure seems like this is all designed to cut a real estate deal to benefit Winnetka billionaire Justin Ishbia, to the detriment of residents.

Today I stood with Latino leaders demanding that State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke meet with them and act.
Enough excuses. The survivors and families of the dead, wounded and traumatized deserve accountability.
We will not go away.
My full remarks today on why the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has the tools to pursue accountability — and why continued inaction is unacceptable:

One year ago today, Silverio Villegas González—a father of two—was shot and killed by an ICE agent.
His children have spent a year without him.
His family has spent a year without answers.
One year ago today, Silverio Villegas González was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Franklin Park.
His family is waiting for answers. No federal agent has been charged for on-duty conduct against him—or any Midway Blitz victim.
Our full statement: reporticenow.com/news/one-ye…
Silverio’s killing was not an isolated tragedy.
Other victims were shot, beaten, gassed and unlawfully detained—and then forced to hire lawyers, file police reports and go to court themselves.
Silverio’s family is not alone in waiting for justice.
A year after Midway Blitz began, Illinois has evidence, open investigations and a charging protocol—but no federal agent has been charged for on-duty conduct.
The timeline documents the delay: reporticenow.com/news/lightf…
I was awestruck to be in the presence of such greatness who lived with such humility and passion. So very grateful to have been the beneficiary of a life truly well lived. Thank you, Gloria Steinem. Rest in power. We have picked up the baton you passed.
I have a special guest joining me for the Chicago Vibrant Neighborhoods Collective fundraiser on Sept. 9!
We’ll be talking about the challenges facing our democracy, and what it takes to rebuild America—one neighborhood at a time.

There is no legitimate law enforcement purpose for electric-shock gloves.
The possibilities for misuse are endless.
A total abuse of power and taxpayer dollars.
Electric shock gloves.
That's what the Trump administration wants to put on the hands of ICE agents already accused of excessive force and operating with little accountability.
Up to $20M. Thousands of them.
How much more cruelty?apnews.com/article/ice-elect…

On the first day of school, ICE detained a man across from an East Chicago elementary school.
Residents say they're now afraid to work, take their kids to school or leave home.
This is what terrorizing a community looks like.

Another step toward accountability.
Minnesota prosecutors are now seeking to extradite an ICE agent to face criminal charges.
Public trust depends on seeing these cases through—not letting them fade away.
SA O'Neill Burke should take heed.

Beware of the latest government violation of our rights: using law enforcement to intimidate people who criticize the actions of the federal government.
A clear violation of our First Amendment rights.

A lot has and will continue to be written about the Obama Presidential Center, and rightfully so. Many of those stories will feature the celebrities, donors and luminaries who contributed or partcipated in the grand opening. I want to tell a different and important story to thank the untold number of City workers whose tireless efforts made today possible. Thanks to CDOT, led by then-Commissioner Gia Biagi, for all of the massive road and other infrastructure work around the OPC north, south and east on LSD. Thanks to the Buildings Department led by Matt Beaudet for handling all of the necessary permitting. Thanks to the Department of Planning, led by Commissioner Maurice Cox and especially former first Deputy Eleanor Gorski, for navigating the complex web of federal permitting. Thanks to the Law Department and especially Lisa Misher and Andrew Worseck. And the whole effort to address community needs including Tina Hone, the Mayor's Office staff and Housing Commissioner Marisa Novara and her team. A special shoutout to Samir Mayekar and his team for patience, diligence and persistence. And the many other mayoral staff who dug in and did the work because that's what public servants do.
I am grateful to one and all and thanks for serving your city to make today possible.
