Raising interest rates right now is a massive mistake.
Higher rates won’t get oil moving through the Strait of Hormuz or lower tariffs on Canadian businesses. They will only make life more expensive for Canadian families and workers, punishing them for something they can’t control.
Bank of Canada expected to hike key rate for 1st time since 2023

It's been a busy summer building Ontario!
Â
From putting shovels in the ground for Highway 413 to advancing major highway and transit projects across the province, our government has been hard at work reducing gridlock, shortening commutes and getting Ontario moving.
Â
Excited to return to Queen's Park and continue building on that momentum!

Check out the progress being made along the all-new Ontario Line, where new subway tunnels are being dug under downtown Toronto for the first time in six decades.
Once complete, this 15.6 kilometre subway line will put more than 230,000 people within walking distance of transit and connect commuters from across the Greater Toronto Area.

Congratulation to @LDoerkson, British Columbia’s next premier, and the BC Conservative Party on their historic election victory.
I’m looking forward to working together as we unlock our natural resources, continue to break down internal trade barriers and build a more competitive and united Canada from coast to coast to coast.
I also want to thank David Eby for his years of dedicated public service and wish him and his family all the best. Premier Eby has been an important part of Team Canada as we stood up to tariffs and worked together to protect Canadian sovereignty.

Media reports that a convicted international drug trafficker is helping a mayoral and regional council campaign is troublesome.
Enhancing my concern over criminality trying to influence our municipal election campaign is that a man charged of recently terrorizing our community through brazen extortions is now working on a campaign for a regional councillor.
Why are these criminals working on campaigns?
What input do they expect at the regional council table from these candidates, that if successful, will oversee the police budget?
I encourage all residents to do their homework before voting and make sure they do not choose candidates who are accepting support from alleged extortionists and convicted drug traffickers.

Today, we're taking action to accelerate the expansion of Highway 69 by five years.
Â
I've written to the federal government calling for its continued partnership to fast-track critical approvals and help get this project built faster.
Â
Completing this vital northern corridor will improve road safety, strengthen interprovincial trade and supply chains, and support Canadian economic sovereignty.
Â
We're ready to work together to get it done and Protect Ontario.
Northern Ontario has waited long enough for a safer, more reliable Highway 69.
Â
Our government is introducing the Building Highway 69 Faster Act to cut through red tape and accelerate the widening of Highway 69 between Parry Sound and Sudbury by five years.
