Protecting U.S. IP from transfer to China shouldn't mean restricting American firms from acquiring and licensing foreign innovations. @USTreasury's proposed COINS Act rules risk undermining the market-driven transactions that bring valuable IP into American hands.

Last month, 200 of the world's largest companies signed a letter to the Judicial Conference asking for mandatory disclosure of third-party funding in federal litigation.
It's no surprise that these behemoth corporations want to make it harder for small inventors to protect their intellectual property. If small inventors can't afford to defend their patents in court, corporate giants can steal their inventions with little fear of consequences.

Multiple patents on the same medicine can protect distinct innovations. New formulations, manufacturing methods, and delivery systems can each benefit patients. A new @IPWatchdog article explains why counting patents alone tells us little about a medicine: ipwatchdog.com/2026/10/04/wh…
Medical innovation requires investment, collaboration & predictable IP protections. @EIRAInitiative's collection of one-pagers explores how strong IP supports innovation and helps new & improved medicines reach patients. Check them out here: eirainitiative.org/one-pager…

More than 200 companies recently signed a letter advocating for federal third-party litigation funding disclosure rules.
It should come as no surprise: the same deep-pocketed companies that routinely face lawsuits are now pushing for rules that would make it harder for smaller plaintiffs -- and thousands of inventors -- to finance litigation and hold them accountable in the courtroom.

The USPTO's fee-setting authority helps the agency plan ahead and invest in the people and technology that keep our patent system running. Congress should renew the agency's fee-setting authority before it expires. Read @Council4IP's letter on the issue: c4ip.org/wp-content/uploads/…
Strong IP protections keep the innovation cycle moving. @Council4IP's new infographic, based on Prof. Jonathan Barnett's research, shows how "idea factories" rely on patents and licensing to turn today's breakthroughs into tomorrow's innovations. c4ip.org/wp-content/uploads/…
