I like this. I’d add that the size of the hand can also dictate or even help with what might work for each punter. Great stuff here from Mr Long.
There’s more than one way to mold a football, but I believe the handshake grip is the most consistent mold a punter can use.
The goal is to find a mold that helps you get the ball in a good, consistent position. Just like in golf, your grip needs to match your swing.
The more consistently you put the ball in the right spot, the better chance you give yourself to hit good punts.
If you dropped it better, set it quicker, and saw the ball longer, would you be a better punter? Absolutely.
Give the handshake mold a try. It could help you today!

Working on the spiral left can be so much different when the wind is right to left or left to right. Ball angle, alignment, contact height, follow through all matter. But we can’t simulate 100 K yelling and screaming so we get crows and kookaburras to chime in when required.

Very proud of the year max is having. Lots of blood sweat and tears have gone into this! Keep going @MaxFletcher31 !! ❤️🖤
Outstanding play by Fletcher to not eat the fake.
Might be his best moment as a #Bearcats punter…
Couple of Prokick lads going head to head. Love that.

Welcome back to the CFL Nic Constantinou!!
A great directional rep, showing left but wrapping his leg around and sending this one to the far right side of the field!
Washington is only able to get 4 yards on the return before going out of bounds at the 18 yard line.

A huge play on special teams when they needed it most!!
James Burnip hits an absolute bomb with 5.35 seconds of hang time and Darius McKenzie makes the best play of his rookie season bringing the Edmonton returner down for no gain on the return!

Congrats Joe. Love this. He was a special talent the day he turned up. Brilliant.
Congratulations to Montreal Alouettes Punter Joseph Zema on his 100th career CFL game, which will happen tonight as he suits up against Hamilton!
Incredible milestone for a guy who's been a steady presence for the Alouettes over the last 6 years. Here's to many more!
