Enjoyed talking with @RektHQ for this one. None of October's key incidents broke any cryptography. Keys were generated badly, stored badly, or decrypted by someone who shouldn't have had access.
That's the real risk for crypto. If a valid signature is all it takes to spend, a Web2 breach becomes an onchain loss.
So at @NewtonLabs we split signing from authorization. Our Safe demo publishes the owner key, and it still can't move funds without a one-time code tied to the recipient and amount.
Rekt's fair pushback is that this moves trust rather than removing it. True. So the next questions are who writes the policy, who can change it, and how much any one role controls.
