With leading healthcare professionals and increased investments in our national defense, southern Minnesota stands at the center of innovation. Thank you to the Minnesota National Security Ecosystem team for bringing together industry leaders to discuss the ways our state can continue to grow and merge these critical spaces.

I recently had the opportunity to visit with the team at Emplify Health in Winona, where they focus on providing patient-centered, not-for-profit healthcare. Appreciated the chance to tour the clinic and discuss how I can continue to support them in Congress. Thanks for having me!

Salim Said, a co-conspirator in one of Minnesota’s largest fraud schemes, was prosecuted by @TheJusticeDept and sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for his role in Feeding Our Future. Said and his fellow fraudsters stole millions of taxpayer dollars meant to feed hungry children in need. Amazing news for Red Wing! I advocated for this project and expressed my support to @SecDuffy earlier this year, and I’m excited to see federal dollars make their way to the First District. Red Wing Port Authority and Red Wing Grain just received over $10 million from the Maritime Administration’s Port Infrastructure Development Program, funding that will help reconstruct critical barge infrastructure to increase loading speeds for corn and soybeans. transportation.gov/briefing-…

Last week in Rochester, I met with Minnesota Realtors to get an update on housing markets and discuss the important work they’re doing to support real estate professionals across the state. I’m grateful to all our realtors and agents here in #MN01 who are working hard to provide housing opportunities for the folks across southern Minnesota!

I led my fellow Minnesota Congressional Republicans in sending a letter to Governor Walz urging him to reconsider his refusal to participate in the Education Freedom Tax Credit. These federal tax credits offer eligible taxpayers up to $1,700 annually for cash donations to nonprofit Scholarship Granting Organizations, contributing to tuition, books, supplies, tutoring, and special needs services. 31 states have opted in, while Governor Walz is denying Minnesotans additional resources that could expand educational opportunities and empower parents to make decisions in the best interest of their children. Appreciated the opportunity to join the Minnesota Broadcasters Association last week to hear directly from our local broadcasters about the challenges they’re facing and what they’re seeing in the industry. For many Minnesotans, especially in rural communities, local radio and television broadcasting stations are some of the most trusted and accessible sources for information. I was proud to cosponsor and help pass the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act in the House to keep AM radio in our tractors and vehicles, and will continue to support the local stations our communities depend on.

Yesterday’s roundtable and tour of Faribault Woolen Mill Co. allowed local manufacturers to highlight Working Families Tax Cuts wins for Minnesota manufacturers, including no tax on overtime and provisions credited with saving over 100,000 jobs statewide. We also discussed the need for permitting reform to strengthen our business climate. I joined my fellow members of Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to @FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton regarding the prolonged delays and disruptions to federal disaster mitigation and response funding following storms and flooding in 2024. More than two years after the disasters, our #MN01 communities deserve to see the critical dollars meant to support flood mitigation projects. Read our letter ⬇️

✅ DELIVERED: H.R. 1 secured the largest investment in the farm safety net since the 2002 Farm Bill, packed with legislative wins that help my fellow farmers succeed.

Congratulations to #MN01’s Cameron Addington, who was recently named Secretary of the 2026 -2027 National FFA Officer team! This is an outstanding achievement, and we are incredibly proud to have one of our district’s young leaders representing southern Minnesota’s ag community on the national stage. Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with local ambulance directors in Fillmore County to discuss rural emergency medical services and hear more about how they’re leading efforts to further rural healthcare accessibility in our #MN01 communities. I helped introduce the PARA-EMT Act to address EMS staffing shortages by making it easier for experienced veterans to transition from medics to certified paramedics and EMTs. I always appreciate hearing how I can continue to advocate for EMS and rural healthcare in southern Minnesota.

✅ DELIVERED: I’m proud to be a strong supporter of the Working Families Tax Cuts that delivered meaningful tax relief for Minnesota families. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, expanded the child tax credit, and saving the typical American family an average of $1,700 in taxes.

Ensuring our law enforcement and first responders are equipped with the proper resources is crucial to keeping our #MN01 communities safe. I met with Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge on Tuesday to get an update and tour of the new county jail and law enforcement facility, and discuss how I can continue to support their law enforcement efforts in Congress.
