It's October - time to turn the Capitol fountain pink for breast cancer awareness. It was my honor to move legislation forward in PA to protect folks from breast cancer. We look forward to a day when no one suffers from breast cancer. @PBCC
Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and came out to Beverly Hill Middle School for our 5th annual Inspir-HER’d event. We appreciate all our community partners who donated time and resources to another successful event.
Every child regardless of where they attend school deserves access to a safe learning environment, supportive adults, and appropriate protections.
During a #PAHouse Education Committee meeting, I spoke about what defines mandated reporters and their critical role working with our students. For a link to my full remarks, please visit: youtu.be/edwBamLqIOc
Early detection is the key to survival when it comes to cancer. Far too many have died because they couldn’t afford the screening, treatment, or have the ability to take time off from work.
I’m starting our day at the Capitol with a prayer for purpose and collaboration. We are called to lead with discipline and listen with intention as we fight for the families we represent. Let’s make today a day of integrity and justice for all Pennsylvanians.
Legislation to update midwifery laws and support midwives is headed to the Governor's desk! This is a crucial step in addressing the Black maternal health crisis.
I spoke on the House floor to honor the dignity and legacy of midwives and support their role in caring for families. This MOMNIBUS 2.0 bill allows certified midwives to certify fetal death, aligning the law with the care they already provide. repcurry.com
I was honored to speak on a recent #PAHouse resolution marking Maternal Health Awareness Day. It’s a reminder of the importance of caring for mothers, families and communities. It’s also a reminder that our work is not done because access to services are not equal. 1/2
Pennsylvania must continue to invest in proven community services. I will continue to fight for this with my partners in the @pablackmhc. 2/2
Thanks to my colleagues in the #PAHouse for supporting my efforts to provide important, life-saving tests to those facing the prospects of a breast cancer diagnosis. I am honored this legislation will be signed into law by @GovernorShapiro.
If you come to the #PACapitol you’ll see the #LightsOfHope. Each luminary commemorates the brave souls that we have lost & those who survived the horrors of breast cancer. If you feel something wrong, please get yourself screened, you won’t regret it. youtu.be/6AqXQxSXAmA
Midwives play a crucial role in providing quality care for women and infants. By expanding their scope of practice through changes in legislation, we can ensure they are able to offer even more comprehensive and effective care to their patients.
Our babies are dying—and we can prevent it. Pennsylvania must invest in maternal and infant care to end our “maternal care deserts.” Let’s act now to save lives. RepCurry.com
October is National Pedestrian Safety Month! As our communities grow, we must prioritize safer, more walkable streets for everyone. Let's reduce injuries & fatalities on our roads. Learn more about pedestrian safety: RepCurry.com #PedestrianSafety #WalkablePA
Inspi-HER'd 2025 was bigger and better than ever! It was great seeing our community come together to support young girls as they learn self-confidence and self-worth through fun outdoor activities and information from state and local organizations.
The Born to Thrive Summit was AMAZING! We brought together key players in maternal health for a day of discussions surrounding maternal and infant mortality as the @pablackmhc continues the fight in Harrisburg to improve birthing outcomes for moms and babies.
Mass transit isn’t a convenience—it’s a lifeline for people getting to school, work, and medical appointments. The @PAHouseDems have delivered funding solutions, but the @PASenateGOP has failed to step up and do what’s right. youtube.com/watch?v=dhuPPTte…
